We have 14 divisions that work collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary, multicultural and ethnically diverse collegial environment.Position SummaryThis role entails recruiting patients from various rheumatology clinics around the city for research projects pertaining to the application of artificial intelligence in musculoskeletal diseases. You will be working with a team of rheumatologists, research coordinators, graduate students and summer students.Duties

  • The Research Assistant will be responsible for maintaining communication with multiple rheumatology clinics to coordinate and schedule study-related appointments, including patient screenings, assessments, and follow-up visits.
  • Providing potential study participants with comprehensive information about the research, including the study’s purpose, procedures, risks, and benefits
  • Responsible for accurately completing and maintaining case report forms (CRFs) for each patient enrolled in the study.
  • Support the Principal Investigator (PI) with Institutional Review Board (IRB) processes, including the preparation and submission of IRB renewal applications and amendments to the study protocol as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, such as social sciences, health sciences, or a related discipline, is required
  • Previous experience working in a research setting
  • Have reliable access to transportation and be comfortable travelling within the city
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrate exceptional organizational skills to manage multiple tasks, schedules, and project details simultaneously
  • Adapt quickly to changing research conditions, deadlines, and priorities
  • Experience in recruiting participants for research studies
  • Proficiency with various technologies, including data management software, online communication tools, spreadsheets, and databases
