The work includes enhancing and integrating methods such as Density Function Theory (DFT), Density Functional Perturbation Theory (DFPT), linear scaling DFT codes (LSDFT), and Boltzmann Transport simulations (BTE). The project contains bandstructure materials engineering for high thermoelectric power factors. We will consider applications for employment on a part-time or other flexible working basis, even where a position is advertised as full-time, unless there are operational or other objective reasons why it is not possible to do so.About YouWe are seeking a highly qualified individual with a minimum 2.1 honours degree in a relevant subject and a PhD (or near completion) in a relevant discipline. The ideal candidate will have proven ability in research and evidence of quality research output in the relevant field of electronic structure and transport including DFT, DFPT, and Boltzmann Transport. You will have sufficient breadth or depth of specialist knowledge in the discipline and of research methods and techniques related to materials chemistry, bandstructure calculations, and electronic transport simulations, especially in the context of ab initio simulationsYou will have a developing research profile with the ability to publish high quality research.
