The success of the Expanded Programme on Immunization (EPI) depends on the ability to identify and reach the vulnerable and underserved communities in Bangladesh. Gavi and the Global Immunization Agenda 2030 have greatly intensified their emphasis on equity, intending to reach children who missed routine immunization. To reduce inequities, including gender inequities in accessing immunization, icddr,b will be implementing “Bangladesh Country Learning Hub” with its partner organizations. This project involves rigorous analysis of both qualitative and quantitative data.
Key responsibilities:
The Research Investigator will report to the Principal Investigator and will be responsible for planning, organizing, implementing, coordinating, and analyzing quantitative and qualitative research to attain study objectives within the guidelines of the research protocol and organizational values. The specific areas of responsibilities include:
- Develop new research ideas, concept notes and research proposals;
- Conduct literature review;
- Develop research design and detailed methodology to achieve the study objectives;
- Contribute to other research protocols of the team.
- Ensure quality data acquisition;
- Analyze data and interpret the results;
- Write up findings as reports, papers, policy briefs;
- Disseminate study findings;
- Impart quality training on qualitative research methods, project design and methods, qualitative research tools, field procedures, data coding and analysis;
- Create detailed project plan covering milestones, deliverables etc.;
- Assign work to team members and initiate activities as per project plan;
- Develop and revise tools; Prepare research communication materials;
- Coordinate and liaise with scientists in the country and abroad, the GoB and NGOs;
Required qualification and experience:
- Master’s in Social Science.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in relevant fields.
- Preference will be given to those who have experience in implementation of research activities on Immunization.
