Job Title: Sales Representative (Aftermarket Attachments – Construction Machinery)

Salary: £47,600 – £58,000 depending on experience

Location: Desford, Leicestershire – hybrid considered with 3 days in the office

Contract: Permanent & full time

Travel: up to 50% significant international travel required mainly within the EU with some global travel

What you will do

As a Sales Representative , you’ll market Caterpillar Building Construction Products and Services, enhancing dealer sales in the Netherlands and Norway.

In this entry-level, field-based role, you’ll be the key liaison for Caterpillar products at the point of sale, collaborating with teams across 14 European countries. Gain exposure to marketing, sales, dealer relations, and new product introductions, with significant growth opportunities.

As a Sales Representative , you are accountable for, but not limited to:

  • Sell and Support : Market the full range of Attachment products and solutions, while helping dealers develop effective short and long-term sales strategies.

  • Performance and Analysis : Conduct regular sales reviews with dealers, analyze product applications and market activity, and recommend optimal solutions for customers.

  • Program Development : Create and promote sales programs, assist with demand and supply management, and support business tendering with tailored product and service recommendations.

  • Marketing and Rollout : Collaborate with marketing teams on region-specific campaigns, address dealer and customer inquiries, and aid in the rollout of new products and services.

What you can demonstrate :

  • Manufacturing Industry Knowledge: Understand industry trends, issues, regulations, and key players. Apply this knowledge to various situations within a major industry segment.

  • Decision Making and Critical Thinking: Analyze situations and make informed decisions using appropriate tools and techniques. Document data and assess risks and benefits.

  • Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, vendors, and peers. Focus on customer needs and satisfaction to resolve issues and create solutions.

  • Value Selling: Sell products, technology, and services by highlighting their value and differentiating support offerings. Present solutions, negotiate effectively, and document proposals.

Top candidates will have:

  • Excellent English communication skills: a second European language is a plus.

  • Proven success in a field representative role within the construction equipment industry, with knowledge of Caterpillar products, merchandising programs, and warranty procedures.

  • Effective collaboration with internal and external teams, ability to work independently, and experience with complex assignments and adapting to market needs.

  • Creating roadmaps with dealers for sustainable growth, understanding local customer trends, providing business cases for future products, and delivering product training to dealer sales teams.

  • Relevant degree or equivalent demonstrated work experience.
