Join us to build the digital economy of tomorrow.Job DescriptionWe have a global scheme compliance team at Checkout.com, and we’re looking for someone to lead our scheme compliance efforts for UK & Europe.You’ll foster relationships with the schemes (Visa & Mastercard), guide the team in working through effective frameworks for dealing with non-compliance cases for merchants, and continuously improve how we mitigate risk.How you’ll make an impactProvide direction to the Scheme Compliance team by establishing thorough compliance plans that complement the objectives of the company.Assist in the creation of comprehensive compliance policies and procedures that may be adapted to meet evolving card scheme requirements. Your influence on the creation of the policy framework should protect our company from any financial risks and violations.Directly oversee the resolution of complex non-compliance cases, including their investigation and remediation strategies. Your guidance will be very important in reducing risks and help mitigate any fines or penalties from the card schemes.Foster collaboration within Risk Operations and across the organisation and engage with all stakeholders to help build a unified risk and compliance management approach.Promote a culture of compliance throughout the organisation by creating awareness, understanding, and the importance of adherence to card scheme regulations.Contribute to the development of comprehensive training programs for the Scheme Compliance team and other relevant staff.Maintain and enhance relationships with the card schemes and actively participate in discussions related to scheme regulations and/or specific compliance mattersEstablish clear compliance metrics and regular reporting mechanisms to track the effectiveness processes and compliance programs.Drive a high-performance culture by setting clear expectations, providing regular feedback, coaching and recruiting top talents.QualificationsAdvanced expertise in payments risks, card network rules and operational analysis, with a strong ability to assess and navigate the complexities inherent in high-risk sectors relevant to payouts and scheme reporting.Strong knowledge of scheme rules, specifically Visa and Mastercard.A deep commitment to mentoring and developing talent, fostering both technical and professional growth within your team to meet and exceed their objectives.Utilise sophisticated qualitative and quantitative measures to evaluate team performance against key performance indicators (KPIs), ensuring alignment with the strategic goals of the Department.Proven capacity for making strategic decisions, adeptly balancing risk and reward, while considering the broader implications for the organisation.Embrace a ‘client-centric’ approach, innovating and delivering tailored solutions that address the unique challenges and opportunities faced by our merchants in the context of payouts and scheme reporting.Skilled in managing escalations, demonstrating urgency and ownership to prioritise and resolve issues efficiently.Agile in managing and adapting to shifting priorities, maintaining a strategic focus on overarching organisational objectives.Drive continuous improvement and strategic initiatives within the department, championing innovation and efficiency enhancements.Foster a collaborative environment, encouraging cross-team synergy and reinforcing a unified organisational culture, embodying our core values and operational principles in every action and decision.Additional InformationApply without meeting all requirements statementIf you don’t meet all the requirements but think you might still be right for the role, please apply anyway.
