Joining us now is a chance to be part of our transformation.Who we needReporting to the Technical Program Director, we are hiring a Scrum Master to join our team. In this role, you will collaborate with developers, QA, and Product Managers to streamline tasks, eliminate redundancies, and bridge gaps in the development process. You will focus on aligning goals, setting priorities, and planning the next steps to ensure smooth product development and execution while allowing engineering managers to concentrate on technology, quality, and team development. As our Scrum Master, you will balance the art of Agile facilitation, using data-driven insights to guide progress and enhance transparency across teams.This is a hybrid opportunity, working Tuesdays and Thursdays on-site in our downtown Toronto office.   • Lead Agile ceremonies and planning. You will guide Scrum teams through daily stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives, and release planning sessions, ensuring alignment with business objectives and fostering effective collaboration.
  • Mentor and support teams. You will coach Scrum teams and stakeholders in Agile principles, helping to cultivate a culture of continuous improvement, self-organization, and accountability. You will empower the team to make informed decisions and take ownership of their work.
  • Collaborate with the Product Owner. You will work closely with the Product Owner to ensure the Product Backlog is well-defined, prioritized, and understood by the team, enabling the successful delivery of key features.
  • Utilize metrics for progress and transparency. You will support the team in using key metrics to track progress, maintain transparency, and drive alignment with broader business goals, ensuring visibility at every step.
  • Proactively identify and mitigate risks. You will anticipate and address potential risks and dependencies, keeping projects on track and ensuring smooth value delivery throughout the development lifecycle.
  • Foster collaboration and empowerment. You will create a collaborative environment where team members are empowered to take ownership, make decisions, and contribute to a productive and empowered team culture.
  • Scale Agile practices. You will play a key role in guiding the organization through scaling Agile practices, assessing Scrum maturity, refining processes, and introducing best practices to enhance team performance.
  • Leverage Agile tools. You will effectively use Agile tools to drive planning, visibility, and predictability, ensuring they support both team performance and decision-making for optimized delivery.

What you bring:

  • The Agile expertise. You are deeply committed to Agile principles but understand that flexibility is key in real-world applications. With experience in Agile practices as a Scrum Master or Agile Team Lead, you can adapt and guide teams through the twists and turns of delivering value. Whether you have transitioned into a Scrum Master role from a background as a project manager, business analyst, or technical lead, your strength in influencing without authority and keeping teams aligned is critical to driving successful project outcomes.
  • The technical experience. You bring experience working for a product-based company. You are well-versed in iterative value delivery, releasing early and often to ensure business value is realized quickly. Proficiency in Agile tools like Jira and familiarity with software development concepts such as version control and CI/CD pipelines allow you to collaborate effectively with engineering teams.
  • The leadership and innovation. You are a natural problem solver who can remove obstacles and motivate teams. With experience coaching and mentoring individuals, you guide teams toward success while balancing leadership with influence—helping the team stay aligned with processes and goals without formal authority.
  • The communication skills. You are an empathetic listener and a clear communicator. Your ability to convey complex ideas simply and effectively helps foster cross-functional collaboration. You understand how to align diverse perspectives and get everyone on board with the process, even in a fast-paced environment where high expectations and skepticism can arise.
  • The passion for continuous improvement. You are always learning, seeking out best practices in Agile methodologies (including Scrum, Kanban, and SAFe) and applying them to real-world scenarios. Your certification in Agile methodologies, such as Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) or SAFe, reflects your commitment to staying at the forefront of Agile practices.
