We can offer opportunities to develop within a supportive environment, and our staff survey results reflect our commitment to facilitate your career progression.We are seeking a Biomedical scientist with a strong work ethic and good organisation skills to become a section lead in Immunology, initially the role will be as the section lead of Immunochemistry this service mainly involves the diagnosis of myeloma patients using a variety of analysers and techniques particularly electrophoresis, however you might be required to lead other sections in Immunology. The successful applicant will be expected to deliver a high-quality service striving to always improving processes and increasing efficiency. The Immunology department has full UKAS ISO15189 accreditation and the Immunochemistry section is well equipped with analysers such as Sebia OCTA , Sebia Hydrasys, Opilite, DS2 analysers. The normal operating hours is Monday to Friday 9am – 5pm.We are looking for a leader.The ideal candidate must have good work ethic be mentally strong for what is a very demanding role and be a good communicator.Experience working in a high-pressure laboratory environment would be an asset and ability to prioritise workload and ensure the team works efficiently is important.Having the ability to adjust processes to ensure you get the best out your team and creating a good working environment.Your Main Duties:To organise the day to day running of the Immunochemistry section to ensure samples are processed within the expected turnaround times. To ensure that work is carried out efficiently/accurately in accordance with standard operating procedures. To perform analysis of National External Quality Assessment Schemes (NEQAS) and Internal Quality assurance schemes (IQC) and to ensure that appropriate corrective action is taken when required. To ensure that departmental maintenance protocols are followed so that equipment performs at optimal level. To partake in the Quality assurance system (Q-pulse) in the laboratory. To plan schedules of training and monitor competency of staff.
