Build and advance your career by joining a team of dedicated professionals who are committed to excellence in support of senators and the institution.How will you contribute?As a valued part of the Security Project Management team, you will represent the Senate in meetings related to the Long-Term Vision and Plan (LTVP) and ensure that security requirements and the long-term security strategy for the Senate of Canada is continuously implemented as an integral part of the overall design from the beginning of projects. Being part of this unique time in history, you will have the ability to be part of the re-design and future proofing of Parliament Hill to ensure the institution remains operational and secure well into the future.Reporting to the Chief, Security Requirements and Project Management Office, the incumbent is responsible for providing the project management team with the security requirements of the Senate which address all physical and technical security matters linked to the planning and implementation of construction, renovation, and restoration projects for the Parliamentary Precinct and the LTVP.You will be the subject matter expert when it comes to identifying security requirements and ensuring that they are incorporated in design and implementation plans throughout the entirety of all projects. You will represent the Senate of Canada at all LTVP project related meetings, conduct on-site inspections throughout the construction phase of the projects to ensure that security requirements are being implemented as per the design, participate in the commissioning of the security components of the building, and monitor the overall project progress related to security components and flag issues or deficiencies to the Chief through each project process.You will be required to review drawings, documents, as-builts, technical specifications and other project related documentation and provide feedback as it pertains to the Senate’s security posture. - Successful completion of post-secondary school or a combination of education and training in a field related to the position;
- Experience supporting or coordinating security projects and activities (e.g., activity scheduling and tracking, research, drafting and reviewing documents, drawings, plans, etc.);
- Proven ability to successfully deliver assigned technology or infrastructure security projects or initiatives with pre-establish frameworks and plans in a multi-partnership environment;
- Thorough knowledge of the methods and techniques for the conduct of threat and risk assessments, business analysis, and identify solutions in support of operational and/or technical requirements, all in the field of security;
- Knowledge of security standards and best practices for medium to high-risk sites;
- Superior analytical and problem-solving skills;
- Proficient using MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint);
- Experience using AutoCAD or Bluebeam an asset;
- Knowledge of Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED) principles is considered an asset;
- Board Certification as a PSP, APP or CPP is considered an asset;
- Experience in preparing SOWs and evaluation criteria for proposals is considered an asset.
