Daikin Europe is hiring an Security Architect for its EMEA Development Centre (EDC), located in Ghent, Belgium.

  

About EDC

  

The EMEA Electrics and Controls department, located at Tech Lane Ghent Science Park, is one of the fastest growing departments withing the EMEA Development Centre of Daikin.

 

The Department is responsible for development and improvement of controls: room controls, unit controls, App and cloud controls.

 

Part of our work involves:

• Embedded software development
• Hardware development
• Cloud and App development

 

Throughout the development steps we combine “in house” development and strategic cooperation with external partners to enhance our products, keeping them amongst the best in the industry. All Daikin departments have a close collaboration to ensure high quality products for the Daikin EMEA market.

 

 

Your role

  

As a Security Architect you are part of an architecture team and advising on the security implementation of our IoT developments. You have a thorough understanding of complex IT systems and you stay up to date with the best security practices and the latest security standards and systems.

 

After an introduction to the company, and more specifically the EDC organization and our current IT architecture, your main challenges will be:

• Review security requirements and assess the security posture to identify gaps or improvements
• Define and improve the security features of the architectural landscape, taking into account Daikin Europe business priorities
• Participate in projects and business initiatives as the security subject matter expert on an architect level
• Review business processes from security perspective and identify threats, risks, and solutions accordingly
• Perform R&D in the field of IT security, including the IT security trending topics, including cloud security and IoT
• Support the development and implementation of security and compliance legislation, such a ETSI EN 303 645

 

We will expect that you follow-up the latest IT technologies, with a focus on IT architecture and security.

 

 

Your qualifications:

  

• You have a Master’s in Informatics or equal through working experience.
• You have relevant experience in a similar role in the IT security area.
• You have experience within a product development environment, preferrable IoT related (embedded development, Cloud,…).
• You have the skill to pro-actively follow up your projects and provide the necessary reporting to management.
• You are able to work under pressure and have situational awareness.
• You have good working knowledge of current IT risks and experience in implementing security solutions.
• You have the decisiveness to select information security practices, technologies and policies what requires confidence in your knowledge and assessments of organizational needs.
• You are a strong team player, good communicator and you strive for consensus between the stakeholders in the project
• You have an innovative mindset.
• You have fluent communication and reporting skills (oral and written) in English.
