Are you looking for a new and rewarding opportunity supporting hearing impaired pupils with their education?Bookmark are currently hiring for a SEN Teaching Assistant to support hearing impaired and deaf pupils at a fantastic school in Derby. The role is currently immediately avaialble on a full time basis with immediate starts available.

• Assist in the planning and delivery of tailored lessons that meet the individual needs and abilities of students with special educational needs and disabilities.
• Collaborate with the school’s SEND department and other professionals to support individualised education plans (IEPs) for students.
• Utilise a range of teaching strategies, resources, and assistive technologies to engage and support students in their learning.
• Support the teacher in adapting and differentiating instruction to accommodate different learning styles and abilities, providing additional help as needed.
• Assist with behaviour management and contribute to creating a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes active participation and respect.

Requirements:

• Experience working as a Teaching Assistant, particularly in a SEND setting.
• BSL to level 2 or above.
• Proven experience supporting students with special educational needs and disabilities, with a strong understanding of different needs.
• Familiarity with a range of teaching resources, assistive technologies, and interventions for supporting students with SEND.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with students, teachers, parents/guardians, and external professionals.
• Strong organisational skills to assist in managing individual student progress, assessments, and interventions.
• Patience, empathy, and a nurturing approach to support students’ social and emotional development.
