POSITION SUMMARY

The PowerBI Analyst position is a key member of the Europe Finance team and is fully responsible for proactively owning, managing and maintaining the data analytics and business intelligence capabilities within the department, focusing on developing, maintaining, and optimizing PowerBI solutions. This role supports the EMEA FR&A team and Continent audiences by providing actionable insights through well-crafted dashboards and reports, ensuring data accuracy and relevance to business needs. With a strong foundation in PowerBI tools such as DAX, Power Query, and an understanding of database management, the analyst aids in the streamlined integration of data sources, contributing to the refinement of data processing and visualization practices.

The position plays a pivotal role in fostering the adoption of Power Platform technologies (Power Automate, PowerApps) to automate processes and improve operational efficiency. By collaborating, guiding and coaching the stakeholders across the organization, the PowerBI Analyst assists in aligning data analytics efforts with the overall strategic objectives, thereby driving better decision-making and enhancing business performance.

The PowerBI Analyst works with independence, but within established guidelines. In addition he/she will service as a contact for PowerBI questions/issues for stakeholders across the organization as it pertains to Countries across Europe.

SCOPE

The PowerBI Analyst may be responsible for engaging in a variety of activities, including but not limited to:

  • Dashboard and Report Development: Design, develop, deliver and maintain PowerBI dashboards and reports that accurately represent business data and support decision-making processes. This involves gathering requirements, selecting appropriate visualizations, and ensuring data accuracy and integrity and presenting the findings back to stakeholders in an engaging and solution driven manner.
  • Data Integration and Management: Assist in integrating various data sources into PowerBI, ensuring seamless data flow and consistency. This may involve working with Excel, Power Platform (Power Automate, PowerApps), and databases such as PostgreSQL and SQL to prepare and manipulate data for analysis.
  • Collaboration and Support: Work closely with cross-functional teams to understand their data analysis needs and provide them with the necessary support through PowerBI solutions. This includes providing training and guidance to end-users on how to effectively utilize the developed reports and dashboards.
  • Continuous Improvement: Proactively seeks and recommends opportunities to enhance the organization’s business intelligence capabilities. This includes staying updated with the latest PowerBI features and industry best practices, as well as recommending improvements to existing processes and tools.
  • Project Participation: Contribute to various projects and initiatives aimed at advancing the organization’s strategic goals. This may involve participating in the design and implementation of new analytics solutions, as well as providing insights and recommendations based on data analysis.
  • Documentation and Training: Develop comprehensive documentation for developed PowerBI solutions and conduct training sessions to help users understand and utilize these tools effectively. This includes creating user guides, best practices, and support materials.

  • Acquire and maintain a comprehensive understanding of the organization’s business intelligence tools and data analytics platforms, including but not limited to PowerBI, Power Platform, Excel, and SQL databases.
  • Continuously enhance technical skills and knowledge, including software applications relevant to data analytics and business intelligence (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, and PowerBI).

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

Proficient in PowerBI, including DAX, Power Query, and the development of dashboards and reports.

  • Proficient understanding of Excel, including VBA, advanced formulas, and data manipulation techniques.
  • Solid knowledge and familiarity with Power Platform tools, such as Power Automate and PowerApps, for process automation and application development.
  • Intermediate knowledge of database management and SQL querying, with a preference for experience in PostgreSQL.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to extract meaningful insights from complex data sets.
  • Excellent organizational skills, capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously and meeting tight deadlines.
  • Strong command of the English language, both in verbal and written communication, ensuring clear and effective exchange of information.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with team members and stakeholders across various levels of the organization.
  • Professional demeanor, characterized by self-motivation, reliability, and the discretion to handle sensitive information.
  • Positive and proactive approach to tasks and challenges, demonstrating a can-do attitude and a willingness to take initiative.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

Certification in PowerBI or related data analytics/business intelligence tools is desirable 

  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in data analytics, business intelligence, or a similar role, with hands-on experience in PowerBI preferred.
  • Advanced knowledge with Power Platform (Power Automate, PowerApps) is advantageous.
  • Excellent understanding of database management and experience with SQL querying, particularly with PostgreSQL is desirable.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, with an emphasis on advanced Excel skills including VBA scripting.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze complex data sets and provide actionable insights.
