If you have a passion for performance, value a collegial and collaborative culture, and approach work with the highest integrity, invest your career here.Job DescriptionWe are presently recruiting for a Sr. Analyst, Public Markets Middle Office (PMMO) to support the settlement process for Public Market products (FX, Fixed Income/Repo, Equities, OTC Derivatives, Securities Borrow/Lend). The ideal candidate is a self-starter with excellent analytical skills, organization skills, written and verbal communication skills and prior knowledge of settlement and custodial procedures in Canadian and international marketplaces. Process and control oversight experience and the ability to take lead on team specific projects/initiatives is requisite.Team SummaryThe Public Markets Middle Office (PMMO) team resides within the Technology and Operations department and ensures that trading activity, security settlement, and asset servicing for Public Market investments and Derivative Products are managed in an effective and efficient manner.Accountabilities
- Responsible for supporting and performing day-to-day settlement processes and escalations from both internal and external parties for public market products (ie. FX, Fixed Income/Repo, Equities, OTC Derivatives, Securities Borrow/Lend)
- Ensuring daily reporting and investigations are carried out in a timely and efficient manner; if there are exceptions to manage, confirm that the team and other related parties are following up; be comfortable reporting errors or incidents to related parties and management as necessary.
- Take on or assist with other reporting requirements including gathering metrics data and other ad-hoc reporting requests.
- Confirm that controls and procedures are being followed by the team and review and provide approvals as necessary.
- Be able to support additional daily settlement and affirmation functions as necessary.
- Assist various internal business partners with operational issues related to trade settlement and custodial procedures.
- Participation in vendor engagements and team specific projects/initiatives as called upon.
- Experience with Equilend and Markitwire.
- May need to represent the team on cross-department/firm initiatives.
- Partner with team members to identify, socialize, develop, and implement opportunities for enhancements that drive straight through processing (STP), automation, and efficiency.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external business partners.
Qualifications
- Relevant university degree such as Business, Economics, Finance, Math, Commerce, Engineering, Accounting, or other related disciplines
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; demonstrated experience building and retaining solid working relationships internally and externally.
- Demonstrated understanding of operational processes and custodial procedures, especially familiarity with trade lifecycle, settlement, and custodial operations. Domestic and International Repo/Fixed Income experience is requisite.
- Excellent analytical skills and the ability to think through problems, assess a variety of factors, and recommend solutions.
- Knowledge of MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word), Bloomberg OMS, Murex, SimCorp, and Tableau is an asset.
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
- High degree of professionalism combined with the ability to readily adapt to rapidly changing investment business and technology environments.
