Description :1-800-GOT-JUNK?, the #1 name in junk removal, is looking for a Senior Back End Developer, Mobile, to join our team!This position will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining scalable and efficient backend systems leveraging JavaScript – Node.js/Next.js, and Ruby on Rails, to deliver robust server-side solutions that power our web and mobile applications.💼 A DAY IN THE LIFEBack-End Development-Develop, test, and maintain backend services and APIs using Node.js/Next.js and Ruby on Rails.-Design and implement server-side logic to support front-end functionality.-Optimize backend processes to ensure high performance, scalability, and reliability.Collaboration with Stakeholders-Work closely with front-end developers, product managers, and other team members to understand requirements and translate them into backend solutions.-Collaborate in agile ceremonies, such as sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives, ensuring alignment with project goals.Database Management-Design and optimize database schemas, ensuring efficient data storage and retrieval.-Work with relational databases like PostgreSQL and occasionally with NoSQL databases like MongoDB (if required).Code Quality and Performance-Conduct code reviews to ensure quality, maintainability, and adherence to best practices.-Monitor and improve server performance and scalability to meet business needs.Technical Exploration and Innovation-Stay updated on the latest back-end development tools and frameworks, incorporating relevant advancements into projects.-Experiment with new approaches to improve the efficiency and reliability of backend systems.Troubleshooting and Support-Debug and resolve backend issues, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal performance.-Provide maintenance and updates to existing backend services as needed.🎯 WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE-Bachelor’s or equivalent degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.-5+ years of backend development experience, with a focus on building scalable and secure server-side solutions.-Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues.-Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with experience working in cross-functional teams.-Proven experience in JavaScript, Node.js, Next.js and Ruby on Rails development.-Strong understanding of backend frameworks, tools, and best practices.-Proficiency in designing and implementing RESTful APIs and server-side logic.-Familiarity with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL) and knowledge of NoSQL databases like MongoDB is a plus.-Experience with CI/CD pipelines and deployment tools is an advantage.-Knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS is a plus.💰 COMPENSATION & BENEFITS-Salary: $90,000 to $110,000 (based on experience, education & internal parity)-Total Compensation Package Includes:-Extended Health & Dental Benefits-Professional Development Programs 🎓-Health & Wellness Perks (including gym access at corporate HQ)📌 THE HIRING PROCESS-Pre-Screen – Let’s talk about your experience, goals & excitement for this role!-Interviews – Two or more interviews with different team members, including structured competency & scenario-based questions-Presentation/Assessment-References & Background Check-We use audio recording transcription for our interview practices 🔊🏆 ABOUT US-O2E Brands has been named one of Canada’s Best Workplaces 14 times!-Check out our culture on ( ) & social media!-We value diversity and inclusivity—accommodations available upon request.➡️ Ready to take your career to the next level?
