Apply today!Your Key ResponsibilitiesReview design documents, shop drawings, and trade submittals prepared by third parties for conformance with good building practice with respect to water intrusion, air leakage, vapor diffusion, thermal performance, and differential movementUndertake field review of both new construction and rehabilitation projects to confirm that the construction of the building envelope assemblies is proceeding in accordance with approved mock-ups and design documentsPrepare site visit reports and use this database to generate Action Lists of outstanding deficiencies and track their resolutionUndertake field testing of selected elements of building envelope assemblies to confirm compliance with specified performance standards (primarily water infiltration and air leakage) and prepare reports outlining the results of these testsInterface with architects, general contractors, and sub-tradesContribute to Building Envelope design and construction document developmentPerform forensic analysis of building envelope failuresConduct presentations to competing interests including working with legal professionals, contractors, and consultantsAssist in fieldwork associated with the assessment of existing buildings and the preparation of building envelope assessment reportQualificationsYour Capabilities and CredentialsStrong understanding of advanced flashing, waterproofing, roofing, cladding, rain screens, air barriers, and other related systemsExcellent computer skills with Microsoft OfficeKnowledge of Bluebeam, CAD and/or Revit, Sketchup, and BIM 360 is a plusProject Management skills necessary for concurrent multiple projectsPractical knowledge of energy code, rain screen principles, air barriers, and thermal performanceAbility to work effectively in a team environment with a strong customer service commitmentEducation and ExperienceDegree in Engineering, Architecture, or Science, with a background in Building ScienceMinimum 10 years of experience in assessing, detailing, testing, and or constructing building envelope systemsThis description is not a comprehensive listing of activities, duties, or responsibilities that may be required of the employee and other duties, responsibilities, and activities may be assigned or may be changed at any time with or without notice.Stantec is a place where the best and brightest come to build on each other’s talents, do exciting work, and make an impact on the world around us.   • BC Other Areas $101,500 – BC Other Areas $152,300 Min/Max Pay Range for postings located in BC (Lower Mainland includes Vancouver & Burnaby)

The final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location.
