Metrolinx operates GO Transit and UP Express, as well as the PRESTO fare payment system. PRESTO serves more than 5 million customers across 11 transit agencies and processes over $2.5 billion in fares through 67 million boardings per month (pre-pandemic). Today, PRESTO offers one of the most globally advanced fare payment systems in the world having delivered new ways to pay for customers, including real time PRESTO Contactless with credit and Interac debit and PRESTO in Mobile Wallet across its transit agency clients, including the Toronto Transit Commission (TTC). Enhancing the customer experience through continuous improvement while working with our transit agency clients to support their needs, and maintaining a system that performs exceptionally, continue to drive PRESTO toward making transit better for all.Our Order Management Office within Payments (PRESTO) is seeking a Senior Business Analyst to act as a key liaison between external clients and internal stakeholders to support management and implementation activities and facilitate timely and successful delivery of Payments (PRESTO) to designated service providers and/or assigned clients.What will I be doing?
- Support and carry out existing inventory and media product processes as assigned ensuring day to day activities are met
- Conduct routine reconciliation of inventory discrepancies to maintain data integrity and ensure equipment count accuracy
- Collaborate and engage with relevant teams ensuring all inventory requirements are met supporting projects and internal stakeholder needs
- Provide a variety of administrative activities to support the management of customer experience, accessibility and other strategic planning and product development projects through all stages of definition, procurement, and implementation in response to business requirements
- Supporting the formulation and preparation of project justifications (e.g., proposed scope, budget, and schedule) including high level business requirements, resulting in project charters and submissions to Executive Management and the Board
- Supporting the initiation of procurements, developing terms of reference and evaluation of candidate suppliers, evaluating bids, and recommendations for approval; monitors to ensure timely procurement of project deliverables and services
- Translating high-level, conceptual business strategies and objectives into user requirements to guide service development activities
- Support and coordinate working and steering committees, including coordination of meetings, minute taking, the keeping of action logs and related follow ups, with internal and external stakeholders
- Research and documents industry and market trends to assist in determining the potential impact
- Facilitates in business process changes associated with new products and programs
- Providing support to other teams in the business unit, as required
- Manage administrative activities relating to Inventory and Asset Management
- Support new initiatives identified through Lean or process improvements
What Skills and Qualifications Do I Need?
- Completion of a diploma in Computer Science, or a related discipline or a combination of education, training, and experience deemed equivalent
- Demonstrated years’ of experience in the development and implementation of applications that support corporate systems
- Applied knowledge of the software development lifecycle to lead successful deployment of significant technological solutions, including best practices for readiness assessments
- Experience implementing creative and effective solutions to business needs using purchased and custom/developed solutions, including structured methodologies to identify user requirements and develop specifications for implementation
- Project management principles and practices to coordinate project teams, monitor project activities for adherence to timelines and project performance objectives, and promote a coherent corporate approach to application delivery
- Acute awareness of emerging IT trend and technologies
- Quantitative analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills, including process and workflow analysis
- Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Project, etc.)
- Interpersonal and oral/written/presentation and negotiation skills to structure and relay information clearly, concisely, and logically for a variety of technical and non-technical audiences
