Join us as we build a knowledgeable and collaborative team that courageously changes how transit projects will be delivered.The Capital Insights Team, in their support of the Capital Projects Group (CPG), is looking for someone to provide technical skill and be accountable for the design, enhancements and support of Data Insights & Business Intelligence solutions. The incumbent will bring a strong background in Microsoft Power Platform development, Master Data Management (MDM) and data-as-a-service self-serve analytics. The Senior BI systems solution analyst will play a critical role in designing, developing, and implementing cutting-edge data products and BI solutions in support of CPG’s strategic and operational data and BI objectives that empower data-driven decision making across the division.What will I be doing?

• Provides subject matter technical expertise in design, development, and implementation of innovative BI and data analytics solutions using Data analytics and BI technology stack, including Power Platform, Microsoft Fabric, and other BI tools
• Develops and tests proof of concepts, pilots, and production builds for business cases and prioritized roadmap using stakeholder feedback, industry best practices knowledge, and insights on BI trends
• Leads new solutions design or enhance existing BI solutions per business needs, including discovery and analysis, configuration, programming, testing and deployment, support and continuous improvement
• Defines and implements BI and data insights best practices, ensuring BI solutions adhere to data security and privacy standards, maintaining data confidentiality and compliance with relevant regulations
• Implement data quality measures and business data validation rules to maintain the integrity and reliability of master data
• Assist management in Strategic Planning, understanding their long-term data insights goals, and help develop a strategic roadmap for BI initiatives and opportunities for BI expansion and enhancements to align with business objectives
• Analyze and evaluate use of external RESTful APIs, JSON data exchange services, JavaScript and TypeScript to enhance the functionality and user experience of Power Apps/Pages through scripts and code extensions
• Participate in further developing Data Insights and BI solutions lifecycle management practice, including version control, environment management, and solution deployment strategies
• Guide junior team members and conduct knowledge-sharing sessions for delivery partners to maximize the utilization of BI and analytics tools
• Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and best practices in BI, data analytics, data management, and incorporate them into the organization’s BI strategy. Explore and pilot advanced analytics techniques, such as predictive modelling, machine learning algorithms, and artificial intelligence, to enhance CPG data insights.

What Skills and Qualifications Do I Need?

• Completion of a degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology or a related discipline – or a combination of education, training and experience deemed equivalent
• Demonstrated experience in BI solution designing, Data-as-a-service delivery, BI developer/engineer, Analytics and Business Intelligence.
• Microsoft’s role based BI and data analytics, power platform and RPA certification preferred.
• Relevant certifications in Microsoft Power Platform or related areas are highly desirable
• In-depth understanding of database management systems, cloud data storage/retention, analytical processing, and ETL/ELT (Extract, transform, load/Extract, load, transform) framework
• Proficiency in applying BI data orchestration to support centralized data repository, a strong understanding of data platform architecture principles, and familiarity with cloud infrastructure (e.g., MS Fabric, Power Platform)
• Technical knowledge of data pipelines (Dataflow, Power Query, DAX) to perform data transformation, data cleaning, and data enrichment tasks while connecting to various data sources
• Strong agile solution delivery skills and the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously
• Analytical and problem-solving skills to analyze problems, detect root causes, and resolve issues
• Understanding of Data Management Body of Knowledge (DMBoK) including data storage, privacy and security and data Classification (Reference, Master, Transactional, and Metadata)
