Senior Calibration Engineer/Calibration Laboratory ManagerMonday – Friday: 40 hours per week (daily start/finish times negotiable)Salary: £40,000- £50,000 D.O.EMy client is a well-established Construction Materials Testing and Structural investigation organization within the construction and civil engineering sector. They require a Senior Calibration Engineer or someone with experience working as a Calibration Laboratory Manager, to join their friendly, supportive, and forward-thinking team. This a Monday to Friday role working out of there UKAS accredited laboratory based in Chesterfield, which offers a wide range of calibration tests, including Dimensional, Electrical, Mass, Force & Torque across many types of instrumentation.The right candidate needs to have experience working preferably within a UKAS accredited laboratory and the right candidate would have a high calibration skill level and not just someone that can manage others.The ideal candidate would have:Minimum 10 years’ experience working in a UKAS accredited laboratory.Minimum 15 years’ experience working within the field of metrology.Understanding of BS ISO 17025.Experience in people management with proven ability to lead and manage a team.UKAS laboratory supervisory / management experience.Experience of producing and managing uncertainty budgets.Experience of managing and working to KPI’s.Hands on calibration experience in at least one of the following fields: Electrical, Dimensional, Force, Torque, Mass.Ability to review and adopt best practice and seek out continuous improvement.Excellent skills in training, coaching and mentoring teams to support the laboratory.Science Degree in relevant subject is desirable but not essential.Relevant training in metrology and calibration activities.Responsibilities will include.Responsible to the Calibration Business Unit Manager ensuring that all laboratory activities are carried out expediently, efficiently and safely at all times.Day to day responsibility of the running of the laboratory.Leadership of the calibration laboratory team.Meet deadlines for clients work and assigned tasks.To review and look to continuously improve on current practices and efficiencies within the laboratory.To build strong working relationships with clients and other sites within the business.Drive, promote and support laboratory staff training, development and knowledge.Assist as required in expanding the laboratory scope.Perform calibrations as required.Working with the quality team ensure all regulatory / UKAS laboratory requirements are met.Commitment to Impartiality & Confidentiality.Previous Education & Training:Science Degree in a relevant subject would be desirable but not essentialRelevant training in Metrology and calibration activities.Employee Benefits:25 Days Holiday + Bank HolidaysHoliday Purchase SchemeFree Eye TestsCycle 2 work schemeRefer a friendMental Health First Aid SupportPerkboxFor more information or any other details please call Jayne on 01223 622040 or alternatively on 07392251574 or email your CV over toAtrium is an equal opportunity employer, and all hiring decisions are subject to international and local employment laws and regulations.
