Job Title: Senior Cloud Engineer
Working Pattern: Monday to Friday, 09.00 – 17.00, 36.25 hours per week
Salary: £75,000 – £85,000 and up to 20% bonus and benefits

You’ll perform and teach in activities, providing a structured environment for Junior and Mid-level colleagues. You will refine, plan and help create tickets in our work management system. You will help to plan and report on your squads work. You’ll participate in and lead design sessions with the team to help generate and select appropriate ideas and solutions. You are an excellent written and oral communicator who is proactive and polite in their approach to others right across the business. You’ll solve problems unassisted, and help others to resolve the problems they encounter. You will identify and escalate blockers to your Tech Lead.ResponsibilitiesStrong understanding AWS as a cloud platform with an emphasis on the difficulties around running containerised servicesStrong understanding of Kubernetes, as a managed service from AWS as well as running it for yourself on your own provisioned metalStrong understanding of everything required to run traditional and containerised workloads on AWSStrong understanding of databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, MS-SQL, Mongo)Strong ability with Terraform and the principles of best practice with IaCStrong experience with all aspects of networking required to securely run cloud infrastructureGood experience with Keycloak and OIDCGood experience with Kong or similar REST API gateway technologyA history of software development (as well as infrastructure managementA willingness to get “stuck in to the code” rather than needing to wait for a developer to explain how it worksRequired SkillsSoftware development experience with one of (C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript)Previous experience with event-driven microservicesPrevious experience with Apache KafkaPrevious experience with NodeJS, NestJS, TypeScriptPrevious exposure to or knowledge of the Financial Services or Fintech industry,Experience in a transformation environment would be particularly beneficialExperience working in a regulated industry or environmentExperience of working in a start-up or scale-upExperience of engaging and managing the day-to-day relationship with Information Security (DevSecOps)Experience working with Information Security tooling such as Paulo Alto Networks, Prisma Cloud, Hunters SOC/SIEM Solution, and Qualys WASQualities we look for:Awesome technical skillsHigh levels of personal and professional integrityA positive, self-sufficient senior with excellent communication skills, intelligence and energyHighly organised with a flexible approach to workingEager to succeed, high energy with humility and a strong personal driveA collaborative working styleA very strong work ethic and a focus on deliveryRewards that reflect your value, what’s in it for you?At Tandem, your hard work is rewarded in many ways and we have an enhanced employee benefits package on offer from your very first day with us:
