DescriptionThis role has a starting salary of £52,047 per annum, based on a 36 hour working week.We are excited to be hiring a new Senior Consultant (Platform Architect), to join our high performing Architecture team. As a key member, you’ll take a central role in shaping and managing our cutting-edge ERP platform and we will rely on your expertise to ensure seamless architecture, scalability, and innovation.The Council has an agile working policy with flexible working arrangements which includes access to our offices in Reigate, Woking and Weybridge combined with remote or home working.Rewards and Benefits

About the RoleAs a Platform Architect, your role involves designing, guiding, and supporting the Council’s Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) platform. Your primary objective is to create an efficient platform architecture, monitor and optimise system performance and advise on security and access issues. This is a new role so this will provide you with an opportunity to shape it as you wish whilst working collaboratively to closely with other team members to achieve departmental and organisational goals.Shortlisting CriteriaIn order to be considered for this role please submit a CV and answer the following application questions: * As part of the existing architecture team, how would you ensure alignment between the ERP platform’s design and the overall IT strategy of Surrey County Council? Describe your approach to balancing stakeholder needs and long-term vision.
- As an ERP Platform Architect, you’ll need to ensure smooth integration between various systems and applications. How would you handle integrating the ERP platform with existing legacy systems, third-party tools, and cloud services? Describe a complex integration scenario you’ve successfully managed.
- As an architect, staying updated on industry trends is crucial. How do you keep abreast of ERP advancements, cloud technologies, and best practices? Share your approach to continuous learning and professional development.
To be considered for shortlisting for this position, your CV and answers to the above will clearly evidence the following:
- Experience in the practice of IT Architecture and knowledge of the TOGAF framework
- Knowledge and strong record of working with ERP systems
- Thorough and comprehensive understanding of concepts and principles of effective architecture
- Ability to gather service drivers and requirements
- Knowledge of new and emerging technologies and industry best practice.
