Location: Harwell (Hybrid working available)Our role is full time, working 37.5 hours a week Monday – Friday, based in our modern offices in Harwell Science Park, near Didcot. As Lead Credit Controller, you will work closely with cross-functional teams and customers to ensure that receivables are collected on time, while minimising credit risks and preserving customer relationships.You will be responsible for overseeing the company’s credit control function, ensuring timely collection of debts and reducing the company’s debtor days, as well as setting credit limits for new and existing customers after conducting thorough credit checks and risk assessments. You will also be responsible for leading and mentoring the Assistant Credit Controller, providing training, support, and performance management.RequirementsYour experience:Essential:

  • Proven experience in a senior credit control role
  • Analytical and data-driven mindset with the ability to interpret financial information
  • Customer-oriented with a focus on maintaining relationships
  • Strong understanding of credit control procedures, risk management and collection strategies
  • Ability to handle high-pressure situations and make sound decisions to protect company interests
  • Proficient in financial software and systems; strong knowledge of Excel
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build strong relationships internally and externally
  • Desire to develop within a Credit Control career path

Desirable:

  • Educated to at least A Level or equivalent qualifications
  • Full UK driving licence
