We are currently hiring a Senior Financial Analyst within the Business Partner Support Capital team.What You Will DoAs the Senior Financial Analyst-Business Partner Support Capital, you will act as an advisor and business partner, and be responsible for providing financial planning, budgeting, and financial management and control services directly to your assigned Business Partners (i.e. Departments/Groups).You will provide support in building financial strategies to support multi-year business and financial plans and lead the annual capital planning and budgeting process, including analyses and recommendation of their assigned Business Partner’s 10-year Capital Plan that enables the delivery of TTC capital priorities and 15-year Capital Investment Plan that provides each of their capital needs over a 15-year planning horizon. This position will be preparing financial updates to contribute to corporate financial updates for internal Committees, providing insights on their Business Partner’s financial and project health, performance, variances and forecasts, identifying risks and issues, analyzing root causes, and recommending mitigating strategies and corrective action to managementIn addition, you will monitor, report and analyze financial performance, and provide oversight to ensure they comply with corporate controls to fulfil the TTC’s fiscal management and accountability responsibilities and financial stewardship obligations. In this position, you will provide strategic and sound financial analysis and advice to ensure informed decision-making on Business Partner-specific policies, priorities and issues by management, the Board and the City throughout the year.In addition to the above, you will support diversity, inclusion, and a respectful work and service environment that is free from discrimination and harassment.   • Post-secondary degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics or a related discipline, along with extensive related experience; or a combination of education, training and experience deemed to be equivalent
  • A professional accounting designation, project cost management designation, graduate degree or other designation in a related discipline would be an asset.
  • Extensive experience providing financial planning, management and analysis support services to clients of significant size, scale, complexity and/or diversity of business operations
  • Extensive experience in the preparation of financial plans, budgetary reporting and financial analysis for a managerial audience
  • Extensive knowledge of and working experience with cost control principles, methods, practices, performance measures, and financial research methods and techniques
  • Extensive experience in the reviewing and financial administration of high volumes of and/or complex contractual agreements, and supporting oversight of the performance of contractual obligations
  • Knowledge of and experience with Public Sector Accounting Standards would be considered an asset
  • Demonstrated work experience with SAP would be an asset
  • Expert knowledge in MS Word, PowerPoint and Microsoft Excel (including Macros, Pivot Tables, Lookup functions and Data Analysis functions) and other computerized applications related to financial planning, budgeting, accounting, costing and cost control
  • Strong strategic, lateral thinking, planning, analytical, and problem solving skills with the capacity to effectively plan, develop, implement and evaluate complex administrative and operating systems
  • Proven excellent written and verbal communication skills, including writing reports and delivering presentations with complex technical information to senior leadership teams
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and demands in a rapidly changing environment
  • Must have or rapidly acquire a comprehensive knowledge of the Ontario Human Rights Code and Related Orders including disability accommodation and accessibility requirements pertaining to passengers and employees
