Chegg is the leading student-first connected learning platform and a NYSE listed company.We’re an incredibly fast paced business that requires a capable and ambitious individual with proven accounting, financial reporting and compliance skills and excellent technical knowledge, to help build and maintain our best in class finance function.Reporting to, and working closely with, the Financial Controller, you will be instrumental in delivering financial information to both internal and external stakeholders, as well as providing daily operational support within the finance department and ensuring our processes and controls are water tight.You will have a crucial role to play in our reporting and compliance initiatives, as well as working alongside experienced Business Intelligence, data, sales, product, tech and marketing teams.What does a Senior Financial Reporting Manager do at Busuu?Own Month-end close process, ensuring timeliness and accuracy of financial reporting: preparing and approving journals, variance analysis and balance sheet reconciliations.Quarterly reporting, flux and audit queries to Chegg accounting team/auditors.Act as the main point of contact for interim/year-end audit, statutory accounts and tax for the Group entities.Partnering with Internal Audit and other relevant departments on internal controls, including SOX documentation and walkthroughs.Management responsibility for Finance Operations Administrator, reviewing bank reconciliations and main point of contact for expense/virtual card systems.Review Bi-Weekly payment runs.Review and support Payroll Manager with monthly payroll (UK and Spain).Manage Global VAT, R&D and other tax compliance.Partner with FP&A on budget and forecasting and adhoc projects.Work alongside other team members to establish best in class controls and Identify and implement improvements in financial reporting processes and systems to enhance efficiency and accuracy.Develop and update financial policies and procedures to ensure consistency between Busuu and its parent company.What we’re looking for in a Senior Financial Reporting Manager at BusuuACA/ACCA accounting certification or international equivalent, 3+ years PQEExcellent technical accounting knowledge (UK, Spanish and US GAAP)Experience of Global accounting and compliance – experience at a US listed company preferredExperience working in the finance function of a scaling company, SaaS preferred.Excellent operating knowledge of Excel, Google Sheets, and NetsuiteThe ability to be innovative and commercial with excellent communication skillsDemonstrated ability to meet strict deadlines while managing multiple projects.Be able to pick things up quickly with a high attention to both detail and accuracy;Confidence to set own goals, ambitious and driven to push limitsAt Busuu we want to ensure that you have access to some great benefits:Our centrally located offices are well-equipped with free breakfast, plenty of snacks and fresh fruitYou get 2 free lunches per week at our office that you can choose out of a wide selection of restaurants in the areaBusuu offers a great Private Health Insurance schemeThere is a personal training budget just for you, so you can learn more in your field to ensure our employees can continuously grow and progress in their careersWe like to support our teams with their work-life balance so we offer flexible working hours and a hybrid model of workingWe offer enhanced maternity and paternity leaveStaying connected as a team is very important to us, so we have lots of social activities for you to join such as team lunches, Thursday socials, quarterly team, and company eventsWhat happens next​We aim to have a simple and speedy hiring process and we want to make sure that we are right for you as much as the other way around.CV application review – We will review it as quickly as possibleLet’s chat – Quick chat with our team about your experience and the roleInterview – With the Hiring ManagerCase Study – At home case study to show off your skillsInterview – Interview to review the task and speak with other colleagues in the teamOur platform is for everyone, and so is our workplace.
