Lounge by Zalando is the growth engine of Zalando group. We are seeking a skilled Senior Fullstack Engineer to join our team in developing cutting-edge commercial tooling and technology solutions for the Lounge by Zalando Pricing Platform and Data team. Our current focus is on automating pricing processes, enabling commercial steering and delivering data foundations to support analytical, data science, and reporting teams. Together with our partner teams of applied scientists, economists, commercial experts and product, you will join a department that delivered double-digit improvement in profit and you will help us to further shape the future of pricing and assortment optimization throughout Lounge.
As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in developing a robust pricing platform that leverages JavaScript and TypeScript frontend applications, Golang microservices, and Kubernetes infrastructure. This platform is the foundation of our article lifecycle optimization, enabling automated data and decision-making that drive business success. Your expertise will be instrumental in ensuring seamless operations, which are essential for bringing articles online.

WHAT WE’D LOVE YOU TO DO (AND LOVE DOING)

Drive the development of the frontend system within the team to manage the commercial price steering, alerting, monitoring, and tracing required to process near real-time price change events.

Own the whole development cycle: from architecture design to implementation, testing, and maintenance of productivity tooling for internal teams that scale and are easy to use.

Collaborate with other engineering, data science, and business teams to ensure that our solutions are well integrated in the larger context of Zalando.

Share knowledge and mentor team members regarding best practices, code quality, and tech frameworks.
WE’D LOVE TO MEET YOU IF
-
You have 4+ years of experience developing frontend solutions using React and at least one year of experience in Typescript.

You are familiar with NodeJS and Express framework.

You possess knowledge of at least one backend language (Java, Python, preferably Golang) or have a willingness to learn backend development and related technologies such as Golang, PostgreSQL, and Redis.

Your experience working with CI/CD, Kubernetes, Docker, and AWS will be a plus.

You keep your eyes on the latest software design, architecture, and web services developments and are passionate about well-structured, readable, and testable code.

You have a business mindset and are continuously thinking about new ways to improve Lounge by Zalando through the practical and strategic development of internal systems.
