So let’s win together.Job DescriptionBackgroundThis is an exciting opportunity to join an audit team of sixteen, reporting to the Director of Internal Audit and managing a small team.You will be working for a FTSE 100 organisation responsible for over 25,000 employees worldwide, generating annual revenue of over £2bn annually. The Group has key operations in Belgium, Australia, Gibraltar, Spain, Italy, Ireland and the UK, as well as operating in over 30 countries.The business is looking to recruit talented, experienced auditors who share a passion for delivering value and quality and will be working closely with a highly capable audit team. This role is responsible for managing a small team and will take responsibility for delivering a section of the overall audit plan. The scope areas will include finance, regulatory compliance, marketing, operations, trading, HR and all corporate functional activity, with the exception of IT which is handled by a specialist audit team.The role will provide a high level of access to both senior management as well as Audit Committee and Board level as well as working closely with all areas of the business both nationally and internationally.Role PurposeAs a Senior Internal Audit Manager your primary responsibility will be to provide independent, objective assurance as to the effectiveness of the organisation’s control framework. This will be primarily through the delivery of your assigned component of the annual audit plan to the business. As such, you will be responsible for working closely with the business to deliver that audits within that plan and partnering the senior executives in order to remediate any issues arising.Additionally, you will also be responsible for participating in mentoring and line management of staff, including experienced or junior auditors to support the assurance work being performed across the organisation.You will be responsible for the execution of the audit fieldwork as part of the overall management of the audit lifecycle. Reports should be issued providing a fair and balanced view of those observations made through the provision of clear and concise reporting.Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the delivery of the audits assigned to your team from the annual audit plan, including planning, fieldwork, reporting and follow-up. Audits could include:
  • Financial Controls including tax, treasury, reconciliations, management reporting, AP & AR
  • Controls identification and assessment for Provision 29 compliance
  • Operations processes including trading, customer management, marketing, procurement, HSSE
  • Regulatory compliance processes:
  • Anti-Money-Laundering
  • Safer Gambling
  • Sports Betting Integrity
  • Licence compliance for any of the company’s international and UK licences across 34 regulators and jurisdictions
  • GDPR and data privacy management
  • New business acquisition reviews
  • In-flight and completed strategic projects
  • Manage co-ordination of joint audits with the IT audit function
  • Participate in multi-person audit teams on larger audit assignments
  • Contribute to the identification and documentation of risk in the audit universe
  • Ensure that all audit work is completed against agreed quality standards within the specified time frames and budget
  • Coach your team to produce high quality, value-adding commercially focused reports identifying areas of deficiency with clear and concise practical recommendations
  • Partner the business in remediating any issues identified, exploring possible solutions with the key stakeholders and following through to agree action plans and obtain regular updates on the progress of those plans
  • Manage multiple projects concurrently and support other ad hoc projects as they arise
  • Act as a mentor for other members of the audit team, up-skill and cross-train other auditors in various audit disciplines (Financial, IT/Systems, Operational)
  • Act as line manager for 2 direct reports
  • Develop long term working relationships with key business stakeholders and within the IA and other commercial functions
  • Support the Audit Director in the development of the annual audit plan and Audit Committee papers, and other senior executive committee reporting as needed
  • Be a member of the Audit Leadership Team, contributing to strategic decisions on workload, staffing and risk management, and supporting peer senior colleagues

QualificationsQualifications and Education

  • Degree qualified with at least a 2:1
  • A fully qualified auditor or accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or IIA / CISA qualified with 5+ years PQE

Specialist Skills and Experience

  • Experienced audit manager (internal/external)
  • Ability to be able to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Strong core audit skills, knowledge of IIA professional standards and understanding of up-to-date auditing methodologies and concepts
  • Strong business and commercial acumen
  • Experience with data driven auditing & analytical reviews
  • Highly motivated, honest, approachable and collaborative individual
  • Strong communications skills; clear and concise communicator (written and oral)
  • Strong influencing and interpersonal skills
  • Experience working within a large, complex, multinational organisation with familiarity with the risk, control and governance structure
