- Investment Management: Local management of productivity and all media buying and activation across all media channels to achieve the best possible outcomes for our clients.
- Trading: Leverage our group buying power to enable innovation and product development with the supply side to provide a competitive offering for our clients and sustainable media income for dentsu.
- Entertainment Content: Enabling new business models through content development, financing, acquisition, and distribution.
- Supply-Side management: The three pillars are all under-pinned by Supply-side management for dentsu. This is focused on the modernisation of our approach including the one entity for the management of all media owner procurement with a clear focus on robust and rigorous processes.
We’re hiring for a Senior Investment Director as part of Amplifi in London.Purpose of the RoleThe purpose of this role is to lead and manage a team of six investment directors, managers and executives to deliver best in class media value management and to deliver our commercial objectives across all clients and active markets.This role oversees the delivery of our global productivity programmes to ensure dentsu meet all our client commitments and expectations for their media activity and to maximize the performance related elements of our media delivery for our clients and agencies.This role reports to the Global Head of Productivity based in London. A large part of the role is connecting and engaging with key stakeholders internally (client leads, market leads, commercial team & broader Amplifi team) and externally (clients, procurement, consultants, auditors and media partners).Key Responsibilities
- Manage the media productivity for 6 key international clients across 60+ markets on all media channels, acting as the main point of contact for Investment globally and to deliver media commitments and commercial targets.
- Leadership and development of a team 6 x Investment specialists with a focus on coaching and setting clear objectives and priorities to enable the team to work to their full potential.
- Support leadership at Amplifi and dentsu in the delivery of media commitments and commercial targets across our key dentsu global client portfolio.
- Develop and manage relationships with key clients and consultants/auditors for existing and potentially new business and to develop a collaborative relationship across their supporting teams.
- Drive best practice and encourage innovation across media investment management and ensure consistency and excellence across all global, regional and local teams.
- Work with our broader Amplifi leadership to bring commercial opportunities to clients and increase the adoption of global products and solutions e.g. Agyle by educating the markets and help drive additional value layers to clients.
- Communicating our Amplifi story, staying ahead of market trends and create opportunities both innovative and commercially beneficial.
- Travel is expected to work with key clients and stakeholders as needed.
Qualifications + Skills
- A minimum of 10 years work experience in the advertising or media industry and in a buying or investment focussed role; preferably at an international level.
- Solid understanding of how media is transacted and delivered for clients across the global media ecosystem and how this is measured and evaluated.
- Experience in negotiating and aligning with media auditors and consultants (Ebiquity, MediaSense, MediaPath, ECI etc) and to support local, regional and global delivery and execution.
- Proven track record in building trusting working relationships with international clients and having successfully delivered media objectives and commitments across large media brands.
- Ability to balance the conflicting interests of different clients and markets (global vs local, procurement vs marketing) in a respectful and culturally sensitive manner.
- Good commercial and financial acumen, with an understanding of agency and client models for remuneration and rewarding performance.
- Capability and experience leading a team of investment specialists and the ability to create a learning and development culture to drive individual and collective success.
- Track record in co-ordinating and managing projects, involving numerous stakeholders, markets, time zones and with tight deadlines.
- The ability to pivot from strategic to tactical with equal enthusiasm and rigor and ensuring the right balance to keep things on track across multiple clients and stakeholders
- Strong command of Microsoft tools and software (particularly Excel) and able to create powerful stories through strong content and presentations for clients and key audiences internally and externally.
