This is a 6 month fixed term/secondment opportunity.We are excited to be hiring a new Senior Manager to join our fantastic Tandridge locality team and the East Surrey Hospital team.The Tandridge locality team is embedded in the heart of the locality with district council colleagues in spacious offices in Oxted town centre with plenty of onsite parking. The East Surrey Hospital team co-located with SASH health partners on site at the hospital in Redhill. You will have visible presence in both offices, you will also have the option to work from home up to two days a week in this hybrid role.Rewards and Benefits

About the TeamCovering an area of 96 square miles, the district has a population of approximately 85,400, making it the third smallest in Surrey by population. The Locality team work with diligence and passion to meet the Care Act eligible needs of people over 65 and people with a Physical Disability or Sensory Impairment.Leading a multi-disciplinary team of 36 staff in the Locality, which includes registered Social Workers and Occupational Therapists working alongside social care assistants, finance staff and administrators, you will have the support of a team manager and assistant team managers whilst reporting on your performance to the Director of Operations. Similarly in the hospital team you will lead a team of 17 staff, integrated with health and Reablement colleagues in the Transfer of Care Hub to enable safe and timely discharge on Pathways 1, 2 and 3 of people admitted to East Surrey Hospital.About the RoleThe provision of local personalised support is at the heart of our services. You will be responsible and accountable for the day-to-day delivery of high quality adult social care support for a specific district or borough. You will be an integral member of your local leadership team within your designated geographical area across Surrey. Additionally, you will have responsibility for a delegated budget and for improving and maintaining high performance standards of the teams/service (including CQC assurance requirements)that you are responsible for. You’ll also have opportunities resulting from being part of the countywide management team to promote consistent and innovative best practice across the whole county.In this role, you will work strategically with district and borough council partners, health providers, care providers and the independent and voluntary sector. You will develop effective relationships that are focused on improving the lives of the local population in general and in particular those people that we provide support to.To be considered for shortlisting for this position, your application will clearly evidence the following:

  • A Professional qualification in social care (social care, occupational therapy, or other relevant health qualification)
  • Relevant recent experience in managing frontline social care
  • A proven track record of successfully managing teams within a health or social care setting
  • An ability to demonstrate a high level understanding and commitment to the personalisation agenda
  • Direct experience of delivering adult social care services and a comprehensive and applied knowledge of adult social care legislation
  • An understanding and commitment to supporting carers and demonstrable commitment to delivering support and managing staff in accordance with the Councils Equality and Diversity policy
