We value user experience and ensure we’re supporting people in making hiring decisions with intelligence they can trust.The Senior Manager, Data Science is responsible for designing, developing and applying advanced statistical models, machine learning algorithms, and predictive analytics to support AMS’s thought leadership and research initiatives. The role is focused on delivering key insights from large and complex data sets, such as AMS enterprise data, labour market trends and research lab outputs, to drive strategic decision making across the organization. This role supports the I&I research agenda through statistical analysis, data value propositions, and trend interpretation, and ensures the development of data-led case studies to illustrate the value of AMS’s data capabilities.Does this sound like you, then we would like to talk to you!Key AccountabilitiesYou’ll support our success by:

  • Subject Matter Expertise – recognized SME in statistical analysis and data science, identifying key metrics from generated or acquired datasets which require deep dive in the report analysis e.g. supply & demand; pay rates; skill sets; candidate behaviour; current redundancies or other drivers in the market which may have an impact on client’s recruitment strategy
  • Continuous Improvement & Evolution – support deployment of innovative, new data related activities to elevate research publications and enhance AMS research voice in external market
  • Strategic Alignment with AMS as well as I&I Vision – drive alignment of all analytical outputs with AMS and I&I team’s strategic goals, ensuring that data analysis and insights from data science team and output contribute to long-term organizational objectives and operational efficiency, including supporting collation and visualization of case study data for data value propositions Client I&I Roundtables – lead and own agenda of regular client and AMS stakeholder roundtables with AMS Data Club members to discuss industry and market trends, informing client specific research agenda from I&I team
  • Optimise Service Delivery – working in partnership with I&I Implementation & Regional Hub AMS Operations and Client Services, to design, build and drive initiatives to optimise service delivery in line with client contractual requirements
  • Development of comprehensive statistical frameworks that drive AMS’s thought leadership and support the AMS research agenda, enabling high-quality research and insightful analysis
  • Accurate Trend Forecasting – accurate interpretation and forecasting of employment trends and hiring conditions by leveraging AMS’s aggregate data, providing valuable foresight for workforce planning and strategic decision-making
  • Advanced Analytical Insights – delivery of actionable insights through the application of advanced statistical models, machine learning algorithms, and predictive analytics, enhancing AMS’s capability to identify patterns and predict future outcomes
  • Hypothesis Validation and Research Enhancement – successful formulation and testing of hypotheses to validate assumptions and support research objectives, reinforcing the integrity and relevance of AMS’s data-driven research initiatives

Skills & ExperienceYou’ll need to demonstrate:

  • Proven experience in developing, applying, and refining advanced statistical models, machine learning algorithms, and predictive analytics
  • Strong understanding of statistical methods such as regression analysis, clustering, classification, and hypothesis testing
  • Extensive experience working with large, complex data sets, including enterprise data and labour market trends. Proficiency in data mining, data transforming and data cleaning techniques to ensure high-quality data inputs for analysis
  • Predictive Model Development & Validation – Demonstrated ability to create, train, and validate predictive models to forecast labour market trends and other relevant outcomes. Experience with forecasting methods to support workforce planning and strategic decision-making
  • Data Visualization & Communication – Expertise in translating complex analytical results into clear, actionable insights using data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Python). Strong ability to communicate findings effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders including senior leadership, and cross-functional teams
  • Software Proficiency – Proven experience using statistical software such as R, SAS, SPSS, or Python to perform analysis
  • Programming Skills – Proficiency in programming languages used for data analysis such as Python, R, or SQL
  • Team Leadership or Mentorship Experience – Experience in mentoring junior data scientists or leading small data science teams, contributing to the team’s overall success and growth
