As a Senior Manager in our first line Operational and Conduct Risk Framework Implementation team in the Chief Controls Office (CCO) Practice Office, you’ll be responsible for a broad portfolio of Operational and Conduct risk framework implementation and embedding activity across the Society, continually improving our operational and conduct risk maturity and supporting the Senior Leadership Team in uplifting risk capability, insight and efficiency in the first line.We’re looking for a talented individual to lead portfolios of exciting and challenging initiatives (e.g. conduct dashboard reporting, Consumer Duty updates, and operational and conduct risk & control simplification) to support key regulatory and internal operational and conduct risk management processes, working closely with Risk Directors, Senior Leadership Team, as well as partners across the Society’s Lines of Defence and UK Regulators.This role would suit a strategic forward thinking operational and conduct risk expert, comfortable working within a fast-paced environment, who can balance a focus on people leadership with the delivery of results in an evolving internal and external environment. With a proven track record in effective and insightful engagement with Senior stakeholders, the role will focus on building strong working relationships to determine key business priorities, risks, and future workflow opportunities for the team.At Nationwide we offer hybrid working wherever possible. You can also find out more about our approach to .If we receive a high volume of relevant applications, we may close the advert earlier than the advertised date, so please apply as soon as you can.What you’ll be doingReporting into the CCO Practice Office Lead, in this role you will work closely with Practice Office colleagues and key stakeholders to identify and resolve Society wide Framework issues such as enhancing the application of Operational and Conduct Risk Framework, driving centralisation and automation of controls, uplifting risks and ensuring accountability is in the right place as well as providing training, advice, and guidance on its management.You will be responsible for the design, implementation and management of conduct risk reporting frameworks, evolving best practice in line with central guardrails and guidelines. You will play a key role in ensuring our conduct reporting communicates customer outcomes delivery and promotes informed decisions to aid management of potential customer harm.Day to day, you will collaborate with the Practice Office Senior Management Team to agree, develop, and implement strategy and support performance and operations. This includes implementing and embedding Framework-related activity and change to ensure consistent application of the risk framework across the first line.You will work closely with other business functions and partners across the lines of defence to build out thought leadership on best practice and drive embedding activities for key regulations, such as the Consumer Duty.You will drive continuous improvement of our customer outcomes data and monitoring to enable informed, risk-based decisions aligned to regulatory expectations and evolving best practice. You will also support leadership team members in preparing for engagement with the regulator on this topic.About youAs a minimum you will need:

  • Knowledge of how to design and implement effective and proportionate operational and conduct risk reporting frameworks to support monitoring aligned to this.
  • Significant experience of having worked in a regulated environment within Financial Services in operational and conduct risk management roles or similar disciplines (e.g. Audit, Oversight). This will be backed by an in-depth knowledge of financial services regulation, with specific knowledge of the FCA’s Consumer Duty being desirable.
  • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal including proven negotiating, facilitation and influencing skills.
  • Proven leadership skills and experience, with the ability to gain the trust of and manage the performance of individuals at a range of levels.
