Spud is looking for a Senior Manager, Marketing! This is a fixed term, mat leave position for 15 months, with the opportunity to extend. This is a hybrid position for a marketing leader based in the Calgary or Vancouver area.Spud is a Western Canadian online grocery delivery business comprised of a passionate team who believe that food touches every aspect of our lives, so we are advocates for sustainable farming practices, sourcing locally, treating animals humanely, and reducing food waste. As a since 2013, we are committed to socially responsible business practices. We also operate our retail markets Be Fresh, Organic Acres, and Blush Lane.Duties & Responsibilities:Overseeing two team members, the Senior Manager, Marketing is responsible for the brand and marketing activities related to the assigned brand portfolio (eCommerce and Retail banners).

  • Collaborate with leadership to define and execute on strategic objectives, success metrics, tactical plans, and marketing budgets related to the assigned brand portfolio.
  • Create and execute on exciting, engaging, and brand-appropriate marketing activities, including campaigns, events, and social communications.
  • In collaboration with the Marketing team, create compelling and engaging email communications that drive traffic and sales.
  • Oversee the weekly engagement that drives customers to our site/to convert: Loss Leaders, Flyers, Category Sales.
  • In coordination with the Marketing team, align assigned brand portfolio marketing activities with overall company marketing plans and programs.
  • Build brand excitement and loyalty through new customer and customer retention activities.
  • Create, execute, and follow up on marketing briefs, including performance metrics.
  • Foster and highlight community engagement partnerships and activities as related to the assigned brand portfolio.
  • Collaborate with Senior Manager, Communications and Digital on all earned media to enhance campaign efforts.
  • Responsible for generating sign ups and new customers.
  • Additional duties and projects as assigned.
  • A degree in marketing or communications, or a related program is preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in a marketing role, ideally leading the marketing strategy for a brand or portfolio of brands.
  • Experience with marketing campaigns, brand strategy, and building community around a brand.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Proven ability to excel in a fast-paced, collaborative work environment, managing multiple priorities at once.
  • Passionate about food, community, and sustainability.
  • Understanding of the food industry, with a particular focus on the natural and organic segment is considered an asset.

Expected salary

$85000 – 105000 per year
