Key purpose of the role is to be the senior point of contact transmitting live and server based sport content across all our linear channels in a 24/7 environment, ensuring fault free broadcasts to our global customers.So, if you live and breathe sport – EPL, Serie A, Moto GP, PFL, Matchroom, IPL etc, what are you waiting for? Ready, Steady, Apply!ADVERTAs a Senior Playout Director, you will have the opportunity to broadcast various live sports events to our linear channels, Spain, Italy and the UK. Not only this, you’ll also get the chance to expand your skillset to support the operational leads and work with our unique OTT product with our hybrid workflows. Both our linear and OTT channels transmit globally, and you’ll be responsible for managing the communications between our production facilities as well as the direct communications between our linear and OTT platforms.We’re a dynamic, evolving ‘live’ environment where things can be hectic at times but what a rewarding feeling it is when you are at the reigns of transmitting seamless major sporting events across the globe! So, if you are also a bit of a chameleon who enjoys adapting to changing business needs, cultures, conditions and work responsibilities, then this could be the role for you!HERE’S A BREAKDOWN OF WHAT YOU’LL DO (NOT ALL OF IT, JUST THE MOST IMPORTANT STUFF)

  • Loading, preparation and transmission of daily playout schedules
  • Executing scheduled live events to ensure content is broadcast at the correct billed time
  • Managing late changes, overruns/underruns and generating an EPG report.
  • Utilising standby material where appropriate
  • Monitoring and quality control of all signals in and out of transmission
  • Ensuring all scheduled media is available for playout each day and communication with the relevant teams if anything is missing/incorrect (e.g. graphics or production)
  • Recording and editing content for fast turnaround, (same day transmission)
  • Providing first line support of all Transmission services and equipment, escalating issues when necessary
  • Pre-empting all possible faults and devising resolution plans ready to minimise any ‘on-air’ impact
  • Awareness and ability to action disaster recovery plans should the need arise
  • Training, mentoring and supporting colleagues on shift
  • Operational Lead support when required

DO YOU HAVE THESE ESSENTIALS?

  • Extensive experience working in transmission, particularly a live sports environment
  • Strong operational and technical experience with broadcast automation systems e.g. Morpheus Ice UX,
  • Knowledge of file based media preparation, file delivery workflows, new media, encoding and streaming technologies
  • Excellent attention to detail with strong communication and organisational skills
  • Collaborative working as part of a team or independently when required
  • Strong editorial judgement and a good understanding of the broadcast rules, regulations and compliance requirements
  • Positive attitude and ability to work long hours to a high standard
  • Ability to work under pressure calmly and efficiently
  • Knowledge of IP protocols and familiar with the technologies and processes of delivering IP content
  • Some proficiency in Spanish, Italian and French
