Venture & Growth CapitalUK5 – 10 years10 – 15 yearsAbout our clientOur client is a large asset manager with multiple complimentary funds and strategies. They are hiring for a new fund of circa 250mn which will focus on investing across deeptech and healthech in the UK University ecosystem. The team is looking to add an experienced investor to the team who brings significant deal experience within deeptech or healthtech.The strategy will focus on Series A – C investments into some of the most exciting start-ups at the forefront of innovation. With significant capital to deploy, they are in a privileged position of being able to continue to support and follow-on in their most high conviction investments. Future plans include a broader geographic mandate and joining the team now presents the opportunity to help shape the focus moving forwards. What the job involves
- Source, evaluate and execute suitable direct investments
- Responsible for project managing key workstreams in the diligence and execution phase of investments
- Monitoring of direct investments, including board representation and internal reporting, as required
- Contributes industry expertise to relevant investment opportunities within the broader direct investment strategy and strategic projects
- Oversight and development of junior team members
Who we are looking for
- A successful track record of investing in related sectors at Series A-C is essential
- Previous experience in investment banking or other relevant industries is desirable
- Proficient in due diligence, and presenting all areas of a potential investment including technical analysis, market positioning, team, financial analysis, valuation and risk
- Healthcare/Deeptech sector expertise across a number of relevant sub-sectors
- Clear communicator with the ability to influence senior colleagues, management teams and within other investors
- Strong work ethic and enthusiastic about supporting impactful companies
- Some board experience is required
