Job ID:39961Senior Procurement ManagerLloyd’s RegisterLocation: London preferredWhat we’re looking forAs part of this role, you will be responsible for developing, and executing, LR’s overall supply chain and sustainability strategies.You will work closely with budget-owner stakeholders elsewhere within Business Services, in Corporate Functions and in LR’s Service Lines, and will develop and implement strategies covering a wide range of professional services, travel and mobility, and employee-related services (excluding Property.You will also define, implement and maintain good procurement practices and vendor management disciplines, while also driving related operational excellence / process improvement initiatives.You will be expected to build trusted partnerships with LR’s critical suppliers, monitor and review their performance and impact on customers’ and colleagues’ satisfaction, initiating improvements, as required.What we offer you

The role

  • Ensure that value is being obtained through the appropriate use of metrics
  • Build strong, partnering relationships with senior business and functional leaders and key decision-makers to influence behaviours and ensure the appropriate and timely involvement of Procurement in all sourcing activities.
  • Develop and communicate LR’s procurement and supply chain management strategy.
  • Assess and action plans to mitigate LR’s supply chain risks (and, similarly, capture opportunities).
  • Set out a supply chain strategy to meet LR’s carbon reduction targets and ambitious sustainability goals.
  • Set a clear operational excellence agenda, ensuring methodologies, tools and processes reflect best-practice.
  • Propose and deliver, savings, efficiency and other targets, supported by appropriate analytics and reporting.
  • Provide functional direction and guidance, in the context of an effective LR governance framework. Monitoring compliance and initiating corrective actions or improvement initiatives, where necessary.
  • Build LR’s Procurement and Commercial capability, through developing, coaching and mentoring colleagues.
  • Oversee the commercial bid process and negotiation of appropriate terms and conditions, to ensure contracts are delivered on time and to budget, with improved benefits and savings for LR and an appropriate risk profile.
  • Institute and maintain an effective Supplier Relationship Management regime, holding suppliers and partners to account and ensuring their performance is monitored against appropriate metrics.
  • Personally, forge and maintain trusted partnerships with LR’s most important suppliers and partners, leading on critical projects, where appropriate.
  • Be an active advocate for both the Procurement and wider Business Services teams; educating the business and showing the value and benefit that involving Procurement early on in sourcing initiatives can bring.

What you bring

  • 10+ years demonstrable experience in a Commercial, Procurement or Supply Chain related role.
  • Hold Professional Membership of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (MCIPS).
  • Degree-level educated.
  • Strong commercial acumen, with extensive and relevant experience of 3rd-party negotiations, commercial terms, contracting and subsequent vendor management; strong negotiator that achieves optimal results.
  • Sound understanding and experience of, partners and suppliers, including supplier development and relationship management.
  • Pragmatic in their approach, with an ability to interpret a range of differing priorities and influence the outcome across a range of senior stakeholders.
  • Able to foresee and solve challenges that may have a broad impact on the wider business strategy or outcomes. Sensitive to needing to manage impacts on colleagues / managing change.
  • Results-driven and highly customer-focused; concerned with meeting, and exceeding, customer expectations.
  • Experience of larger, more complex RFPs, including IT and BPO deals.
  • Strong communication, presentation and internal customer / stakeholder management skills; proven ability to operate in a complex and diverse stakeholder environment.
  • Proven influencing skills and ability to work collaboratively, both upwards and at peer level, with functional and business colleagues.
  • Sound understanding and experience of how to overcome the barriers to achieving significant change that can result from a new procurement approach.
