Your key responsibilities

  • Influence the vision, strategy and roadmap from customer perspective to inspire new ideas and put HSBC at the forefront of customer experience design.
  • Champion the use of customer-centric methods including Design Thinking, usability testing, customer journey mapping, user research and more.
  • Drive all aspects of the design process, from research and ideation to creative conceptualisation and execution (using our CX principles and design system).
  • Embed the use of data to inform, evaluate and validate customer experiences.
  • Collaborate with our team of senior product designers to identify dependencies and ensure we’re creating cohesive customer experiences.
  • Ensure your team’s designs meet relevant standards and governance processes.
  • Lead and collaborate with teams distributed across time-zones and geographies.
  • Coach, mentor and develop a successful design team, shaping the way designers work and create a space for each designer to thrive, learn and grow.
  • Define the appropriate mix of skills (product design, design research, service design and content design) based on the nature of the projects.
  • Contribute to further evolving and elevating the Design capability within the bank.

RequirementsExperience required

  • You have extensive experience in Digital Product Design, with an impressive portfolio of world class projects and case studies.
  • You obsess over the details of visual and interaction design, motivating your teams to push the boundaries and design innovative experiences.
  • You create a culture that is inclusive, open to new ideas and inspires and empowers designers to unleash their potential.
  • You are an experienced leader who can confidently influence stakeholders and cross-functional teams to take a customer-centric approach.
  • You build effective relationships with people within Design and across the business.
  • You know how to ship the right experiences, raising the bar for quality through data-driven design from discovery through validation to inform design decisions.
