Senior Product Manager

Job title:

Senior Product Manager

Company

Triptease

Job description

Triptease exists to stop technology being a barrier to fair competition for hotels. We are on a mission to disrupt intermediaries like Booking.com and Expedia and establish the direct channel as the dominant method of hotel distribution. We’re achieving this by providing hotels with access to a high performance marketing platform underpinned by powerful proprietary data-sets and artificial intelligence. We’re looking for a Senior Product Manager to help us shape and bring this vision to life. You will be working on the goals, strategy and delivery within one of our cross functional product teams. What will I be doing?

  • You’ll play a key part in the formation and execution of a new product area focussed providing customers with horizontal platform-level controls over strategy across our marketing channels.
  • This area is expected to lean heavily into AI-tooling to create unique and compelling solutions to our customers needs.
  • You’ll quickly become the domain expert for your product area, studying the market, the competition and working closely with our customers to understand their needs and how we can better serve them.
  • You’ll work in a cross functional squad comprising engineering, design and data science.
  • You’ll own and maintain the quality of the product your squad is responsible for, delivering world-class software in every release.
  • You’ll support your squad to set clear goals and key results, learn, and adjust course when needed.
  • You’ll motivate your squad to do the best work of their careers; helping them continuously improve, and making sure everyone is productive and happy.
  • You’ll collaborate with marketing, sales, finance, customer success and other cross-functional stakeholders to align plans, clear blockers, and communicate changes with Triptease’s customers.

Where will I be working? The Product-Engineering team is remote-first so we are happy to consider remote candidates (London +/- 1h GMT). If you happen to be in or near London you are welcome to use the Soho office or work from home, whatever works for you each day. We get together for social events as often as possible, both remote and in-person. We have regular quarterly meet-ups where everyone comes to London for a couple of days to build alignment and have fun together.RequirementsWhat skills do I need?

  • Five or more years experience in a Product Manager role.
  • You’ve shipped world-class products in a fast-growing company before.
  • You know when to employ different approaches to product management, and can balance lean-style MVP experimental work with focused iteration.
  • You’re obsessed with metrics and understand how product changes might impact our goals.
  • You have enough technical knowledge to quickly understand the domain space.
  • You’re entrepreneurial and self driven, with some great examples of how you saw an opportunity and made it happen.
  • You have strong interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to influence and build consensus across a broad range of backgrounds, organisational levels and personalities
  • You enjoy working in a fast paced, collaborative, feedback driven environment.
  • You are collaborative, open-minded, and looking to continue to develop your craft.

Bonus points for:

  • Experience with data-led tech products and artificial intelligence.
  • Experience of the hospitality or travel industry (desirable but not vital).

BenefitsWhat we offerOur start-up culture (more on this below) means everyone’s contribution really matters. It’s an inclusive, outcome-orientated and fun place to work.

  • We’re committed to your career development, most of our staff have seen considerable learning and progression. There is space to take dedicated learning time out each week to further improve your craft. Triptease will also fund training and conferences if you tell us why we should.
  • We like to offer all our employees a stake in our success which is why we offer share options.
  • 25 days holiday on top of public holidays.
  • Access to Perkbox, £250 annual learning budget, volunteer days and a bunch of other great benefits.
  • 10 “Discovery Days” per year to explore innovative ideas together with colleagues from around the business
  • Fun events for Tripteasers – the entire company in to the UK this June for a retreat at a country house.
  • Whatever equipment helps you get your job done.

Something important to you that’s not on this list? Talk to us!Our Operating Model & Culture

  • In Product-Engineering, we hire people we trust, and then trust them to make their own choices on how they want to work, and how they want to reach a goal. This sounds simple but it requires a lot of investment in the right company culture. Our team is made up of autonomous squads who decide what they work on, how they work and within them have all the skills they need to complete their mission. That means we have no centralised teams (Ops, QA etc).
  • We think that we are doing a good thing for hotels and guests and believe in our mission! We are working on a highly scaled platform that hotels use to build direct relationships with their customers and cut out middlemen. In terms of scale, our software operates on over 10k hotels and collects ~30M guest events a day, and growing. That’s a big opportunity to positively impact a lot of people.
  • We engage with our customers to validate assumptions and test new features. We like to go crazy deep on the problem. ‘Start with the problem’ is one of our three core principles, and beyond tools like FullStory, Intercom and Analytics that help us learn about users, each squad has friends in CS and Sales and even hoteliers themselves to help build that knowledge. Hotel visits and travel research budgets are also a big plus.
  • We care deeply about diversity and inclusion. We have a dedicated D&I squad who meet regularly to work on and propose actions to improve D&I within the team and wider biz. Outside of hiring activities, we work hard to foster an environment of psychological safety. We truly value collaboration and are invested in maintaining a team that encourages everyone to contribute.
  • We optimise for learning. We regularly provide each other with feedback and reflect on the ways we work. We use Notion to bring efficient transparency and create a home for everything we do. We have initiatives like ‘Discovery Days’, ‘Field Trips’ and ‘Product Management Dojos’ to bring new people together and create more learning and development opportunities.
  • We celebrate our progress. At the end of each week, we join the rest of the company to showcase what we’ve accomplished and share our pride in the work we have done with our colleagues.

Triptease is proud to be an equal opportunity employer with an active cross-functional ‘diversity squad’ devoted to addressing diversity challenges in the company and industry. We welcome applications from diverse and non-traditional backgrounds. Applicants will not be discriminated against on the basis of any protected characteristic(s) in terms of the Equality Act (2010).
