We are looking to hire a Senior Programmer Analyst who has Oracle EBS experience to carry out mainstream applications development, support and modifications to individual programs or components of programs/subsystems.   • Working independently or as technical lead of a project team to review client requirement documents to build system requirement specifications to support Oracle eBusiness Suite.
  • Developing technical solutions as per system requirements in Oracle eBusiness Suite to meet business needs and IT specifications according to: architecture design, security requirements and any legal or regulatory requirements.
  • Producing implementation plans to install and configure developed or commercial off the shelf software in the CNL IT environment adhering to best practices with development, testing and production environments.
  • Designing, building, and documenting database schematics and programming of tables, views, indexes, stored procedures, P/L SQL packages, functions and constraints to enable software functionality.
  • Conducting the code review process and makes recommendations towards new standards and coding practices. Leads teams to establish application development and QA standards and best practice guidelines.
  • Partnering with vendors and/or other architects to formulate and validate optimal architectural options, taking into consideration robustness, scalability and ongoing management and supportability of software solutions.
  • Working as second and third tier support to diagnose and troubleshoot customer software issues at CNL.
  • Documenting, coding, and testing solutions using ITIL best practices. Builds change requests and coordinates resources for execution, seeks Change Advisory Board approval.
  • Preparing knowledge articles to document work-arounds, common problems/solutions and maintains them in the company knowledge base software.
  • Liasons with 1st tier 2nd tier and other 3rd tier support and escalates issues with appropriate vendors when solutions cannot be produced within CNL.
  • Preparing and executing software test cases and test plans
  • Documenting results and logs defects in the appropriate defect tracking software.
  • Working independently and/or as technical lead on a project team to test developed or commercial off the shelf software against requirements.

What we are looking for:

  • Graduation from a recognized educational institution in computer science, computer programming, software engineering or graduation from an equivalent formal education program and relevant IT experience.
  • Five or more years of recent related industry and practical experience in software development, software testing, and source code management and in applying one or more SDLC methodologies (e.g. Waterfall, RAD, JAD, Iterative, Agile).
  • Consistently demonstrates an understanding of the software development lifecycle, development methodologies, and analysis and design techniques and ability to apply these principles over the entire lifecycle of an information system delivery.
  • Consistently demonstrates an understanding of software testing techniques and toolsets.
  • Consistently remains current with industry trends and best practices as they relate to software development.
  • Prepares and executes unit, system and integration test plans and test cases for all software related deliverables
  • Ability to code in more than one development technology (.Net, XML, JSON, JAVA, Python) and within multiple database technologies (MS SQL, Oracle)
  • Demonstrated expertise in multiple SDLC methodologies and able to provide input into recommendations for application of methodology to optimize development.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills to persuade, influence or educate various audiences (e.g., Management or Executive level reporting/presentations, vendors, community stakeholders, business unit managers, project teams, etc
  • Understanding of server technologies (Internet Information Server), operating systems (Windows 2016/2019, Linux) and server security.
  • Familiar and demonstrated abilities to code web-based applications and apply industry standard security and protocols (SSO, SSL Certificates, Event Logging)
  • Knowledge to provide accurate estimates for development efforts and demonstrated ability to apply them. Stays abreast of application development product updates, new releases and new technologies. Identifies technology opportunities and makes recommendations to the Business Solutions Manager and IT Leadership.
  • Past experience working on Oracle eBusiness Suite in a development capacity and functional knowledge of key EBS Modules (HCMS, AR, AP, Finance, Procurement, Supply Chain, etc)
  • Proven application integration experience including areas of workflow, operating systems and data models. Excellent knowledge of commonly used system architecture concepts, practices and procedures.
  • Understands project management principals.

Location of Work – Remote

  • This role is based out of CNL’s Chalk River site, however the primary work location will be remote. Although this role is considered to be fully remote, presence at the Chalk River site may be needed on occasion and will be determined by the manager, based on internal client and project needs. CNL may require travel from time to time, as necessary.
