Job description
Senior Scientist – Lab Operations – 6 month full time contract pending in January.End-to-end delivery of analytical and pre-analytical lab services to support clinical trials. Includes kit receipt, specimen management, specimen preparation and lab analysis across a broad spectrum of methods and technologies.Responsible for laboratory testing in accordance with applicable regulations governing clinical laboratories. Performs a wide variety of testing to produce accurate, reliable and reproducible data to support clinical trials research; and ensures accurate and timely reporting of results.We are looking to speak with experienced Scientists within Lab Operations.One of our major CRO partners are hiring based on their successful growth.Key Responsibilities:Analytical Procedures & Documentation:
- Conduct and accurately document analytical procedures following company protocols and regulatory standards.
- Assist in troubleshooting and enhancing processes to improve data quality, reduce costs, or shorten turnaround times, including updating standard procedures.
Technical Support & Team Collaboration:
- Serve as a technical resource for laboratory staff and support the team in the absence of the line manager.
- Perform routine data analysis to ensure analytical procedures meet expected outcomes and results are within acceptable limits.
- Identify, document, and escalate potential performance errors or unusual results to senior laboratory personnel.
- Prepare data analysis results for upload to the LIMS system under senior staff guidance.
CAPA & Continuous Improvement:
- Contribute to CAPA (Corrective and Preventive Actions) investigations, deviations, and resolutions.
- Ensure clear, accurate, and timely communication with cross-functional stakeholders.
- Assist in maintaining laboratory equipment and suggest potential new equipment acquisitions.
Laboratory Maintenance & Inventory:
- Maintain a clean and organized lab environment, adhering to 6S standards.
- Assist in managing laboratory inventory to ensure adequate supplies.
- Prepare buffers and solutions required for analysis.
Equipment Calibration & Staff Training:
- Perform and document the calibration and maintenance of laboratory equipment as assigned.
- Conduct hands-on training for other lab personnel in areas where you have proven competency.
Professional Development & Project Leadership:
- Engage in continuing education through self-study, training sessions, lectures, and meetings.
- Lead laboratory or cross-functional projects, assisting with the implementation of changes.
- Contribute to the design, development, and execution of routine methods/assays under moderate supervision.
Compliance & Safety:
- Support safety, quality, and 6S initiatives.
- Adhere to company procedures and applicable regulatory requirements.
