We’re looking for a Security Technical Program Manager with the right mix of technical depth, engineering background, on-line services experience, and collaboration skills to help grow and protect Office 365 cloud services.

As a Senior Technical Program Manager, you will work closely with our engineering teams to make sure that our backend security tech and operations scale as the service grows and expands into new environments. You’ll also work with our customers with specialized security requirements to identify new features our infrastructure security needs to meet, and work with our engineering teams to get those features built. And throughout the process, you’ll continually seek to understand and analyze new and emerging threats that could impact our service infrastructure and build mitigations to protect against those threats.

Responsibilities
- Analyze potential security issues and develop investigation and resolution plans
- Facilitate implementation of established plans and procedures
- Communicate complex and technical issues to diverse audiences, orally and in-writing, in an easily understood, authoritative, and actionable manner
- Rapidly react to changing situations and develop new plans based on recent discoveries
- Drive enhancements at every level of the OSI model to improve detection, response, and remediation
- Coordinate with internal and external business partners and security teams at a deeply technical level
- Work with engineering teams to ensure infrastructure security products and operations can scale as Microsoft 365 infrastructure grows
- Drive service owners within Microsoft 365 to onboard their infrastructure to security products and operations
- Socialize and drive alignment about upcoming changes and requirements throughout the Microsoft 365 organizations
- Work with Microsoft 365 customers to understand specialized security requirements for service infrastructure, and work with engineering teams to build those features into service infrastructure
- Represent security controls met by Microsoft 365 services in audits
- Any other reasonable activity directed by management
Qualifications
Required/Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree AND 4+ years experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development
- OR equivalent experience.
- 2+ years experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in security investigations, threat detection & analysis, security program management, and/or incident response.
Other Requirements:
- Security Clearance Requirements: Candidates must be able to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:
- The successful candidate must have an active U.S. Government Top Secret Clearance with access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) based on a Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) with a polygraph. Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. Failure to maintain or obtain the appropriate U.S. Government clearance and/or customer screening requirements may result in employment action up to and including termination.
- Clearance Verification: This position requires successful verification of the stated security clearance to meet federal government customer requirements. You will be asked to provide clearance verification information prior to an offer of employment.
- Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
- Citizenship & Citizenship Verification: This position requires verification of U.S. citizenship due to citizenship-based legal restrictions. Specifically, this position supports United States federal, state, and/or local United States government agency customer and is subject to certain citizenship-based restrictions where required or permitted by applicable law. To meet this legal requirement, citizenship will be verified via a valid passport, or other approved documents, or verified US government Clearance
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience working with the US Government or US Department of Defense
- Experience with cloud-hosted services, web-based applications, and server/service management features
- Demonstrated ability to understand and communicate technical details with varying levels of management
- An ability to work well under pressure while maintaining a professional image and approach.
- Communication skills both written and verbal
- Awareness of modern security related subjects and trends such as threat hunting and modeling, digital forensics, reverse engineering, phishing, and penetration testing.
- Ability to work collaboratively with engineering teams to drive architectural changes that improve the stability and security of each environment.
- Demonstrated success in dealing with ambiguity and problem definition under timeline constraints.
- Comprehension of security trends and emerging threats to calculate risk and drive proper courses of action towards incident remediation.
Technical Program Management IC4 – The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $117,200 – $229,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $153,600 – $250,200 per year.
