IDEXX is hiring a Senior Software Development Manager for the Diagnostic Software Engineering team. This team is the engineering core of Vet Connect Plus. This position in highly visible integrating work with other teams and LOB.Preference is hybrid with the ability to work at the World Campus in Westbrook, Maine.What you will do:

• Manages activities in a business unit/group/area/function/program.
• Manages staff and/or supervisors, assigning work, monitoring activities and evaluating performance. Manages escalated/critical issues. Administers employment actions, provides coaching and guidance to staff and promotes staff training and development. Leads development of unit/group/area/function/program budget, policies and procedures and contributes to development of strategy and direction. May coordinate work of outside vendors and contractors.
• Leads work activities of the business unit/group/area/function/program, planning and organizing work, providing for adequate staffing and resources and maintaining work on schedule so that ongoing customer satisfaction is maintained.
• Identifies and implements strategies and efficiencies to enhance customer experience and align with business operations.
• Communicates with other related departments to coordinate work and resolve issues as needed. Provides internal and/or external customer feedback and leads/participates in teams related to new or ongoing project work and other areas as needed.
• Leads/contributes to process/other improvements based on evaluation of existing procedures and business needs. Utilizes data, metrics and system tools to ensure efficiency and to maximize customer experience. Identifies problems, obstacles and opportunities and proactively acts to address issues. Strives for continuous improvement.
• Prepares reports and other information summarizing work activities and reports results to peer groups as well as senior management. Prepares various analyses as needed to highlight issues and resolve questions.
• Develops departmental plans, including business, production and/or organizational priorities. Controls resources and policy formulation in area of responsibility. Provides input to functional or departmental strategy. Typically contributes directly to business priorities and planning. Responsibility may extend to multi-countries.
• Decisions are guided by resource availability and functional objectives.
• Modernize the Vet Connect Plus platform to an Amazon platform.

What you will need to succeed:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience. Master’s degree preferred.
• Management / Leadership experience of 8+ years with the ability to challenge thought of 5-10 direct reports with in-depth experience in the area of cloud platforms. Proven leadership skills.
• Ability to organize, prioritize and direct work activities within a result services team.
• Experience in cloud development diagnostic data operations.
• Excellent customer service, cross-functional collaboration and business relationship-building skills required.
• Reasoning, problem solving and analytical skills to resolve issues.
• Experience in project management both leading and hands-on.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written within multiple levels of leadership.
• Extensive Amazon Cloud platform experience preferred. Microsoft cloud experience strongly considered.
• Proven ability to look beyond existing methodologies and own discipline to define and resolve complex problems.
