Job Description: Senior Sous ChefLocation: Worksop, EnglandJob Type: Full-timeSalary: £38,000 per annumResponsibilities:

• Assist the Head Chef in the management of kitchen operations including food preparation, cooking, and presentation.
• Supervise and mentor junior kitchen staff, ensuring high culinary standards and efficient workflow.
• Collaborate with the Head Chef to develop and execute new menu items, focusing on seasonal and local ingredients.
• Maintain kitchen inventory, ordering supplies as needed, and ensuring proper storage and stock rotation.
• Oversee health and safety regulations within the kitchen, ensuring compliance with food hygiene standards.
• Conduct regular kitchen clean-ups and maintain cleanliness of kitchen equipment and tools.
• Assist in the training of new staff, fostering a positive and productive team environment.
• Participate in menu planning and event planning to enhance guest experiences.
• Monitor food quality and ensure dishes are prepared and served to the highest standards.

Essential Qualifications:

• NVQ Level 2 or higher in Professional Cookery or relevant culinary qualifications.
• Proven experience in a similar role within a high-volume kitchen setting.
• Strong knowledge of cooking techniques and food preparation processes.
• Understanding of food costing and inventory management.
• Excellent organizational and leadership skills.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work well within a team.

Desired Experience:

• A minimum of 3 years of experience in a sous chef or senior kitchen role.
• Experience in a fine dining or upscale hospitality environment is preferred.
• Ability to innovate and bring creative flair to menu offerings.
• Experience managing kitchen staff and training new chefs.
