Learn more at .Mach49 is hiring on behalf of our client CQuel, a young and fast-growing venture backed by Hines, one of the world’s leading real estate investors with over $90B assets under management (AUM). CQuel’s mission is to make decarbonising commercial properties hassle-free by leveraging leading experts and technologies, all on one platform. Today CQuel operates in the UK and Germany and has a strong team of 10 employees with vast experience from building and scaling software companies and marketplaces within sustainability, real estate and decarbonisation. The venture now is getting traction and approaching Product-Market fit, and thus looking to add to its team.The RoleWe are seeking an experienced Sustainability Solutions engineer with a start-up mindset who can be our subject matter expert through all the steps of the decarbonisation journey on CQuel. You need to know the technical side of the decarbonisation of commercial buildings, and, more importantly, know how to use that knowledge to ensure that all CQuel’s vetted freelance engineers, software providers and net zero installers continuously perform at the highest level. This is not a job for someone who wants to execute on a playbook; this is a job for someone who likes the challenge of creating something new and doing things differently.In your day to day work, you will:

• Guide and approve building assessments done by CQuel’s partners
• Quality ensure the tendering processes on CQuel’s platform
• Onboard new Solution Partners and technology providers
• Manage our pool of CQuel engineering & other technical operations contractors and deploy them efficiently on all our different projects
• Oversee and influence CQuel’s involvement during the delivery phase of technical solutions for assets
• Define the best internal processes and give subject matter expertise to our engineering team so they can create a stellar software

ExperienceOur Senior Engineer should ideally:

• Have a Mechanical Engineering / Construction Management / Technical Management / Architecture degree or equivalent
• Has a strong understanding of relevant decarbonization technologies, including solar, heat pumps, demand optimization, and BMS upgrades, as well as other relevant building efficiency measures.
• Have experience at a medium-sized to large-sized building company with demonstrable experience in-field as an engineer
• Have an exceptional ability to develop strong relationships with partners and peers
• Love creating and improving processes and push standards up every day
• Have experience from a fast-moving and early- stage digital start-up/growth business experience or some familiarity equivalent from your current day to day work.
