As one of Canada’s leading non-prime consumer lenders, we offer a full suite of products including non-prime leasing, unsecured and secured loans as well as point-of-sale-financing though easyhome, easyfinancial, and LendCare.Reporting to the Manager, Corporate Talent Acquisition, the Senior TA Specialist owns and manages the end-to-end recruitment process for a range of support center roles, with a strong focus on hiring manager consultation. This role involves working closely with business leaders and HR professionals to identify and consult on hiring needs. The Specialist will proactively develop candidate pipelines to attract a diverse slate of qualified candidates, aiding goeasy leaders in making sound hiring decisions. To excel as a Senior TA Specialist, one should possess superior communication skills and a deep understanding of recruitment processes and talent acquisition strategies. Prior experience in successfully managing a volume of recruitment activities and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment are required.What will you be doing?

  • Manage the end-to-end recruitment cycle, including hiring manager engagement, developing and executing search strategies, interviewing, selection, negotiation, and fulfillment.
  • Lead hiring strategy meetings to understand role requirements and develop appropriate talent profiles, designing comprehensive job descriptions and interview plans to support the selection process.
  • Conduct behavioral interviews and assessments to evaluate candidates’ skills, qualifications, and cultural fit aligned with goeasy’s core competencies.
  • Own the candidate experience from first contact through offer acceptance and preboarding, promoting a barrier-free, bias-free recruitment process to ensure a positive candidate experience regardless of the outcome.
  • Deliver recruitment consultation and coaching to leaders regarding candidate competencies and fit.
  • Review staffing requirements for assigned portfolios and collaborate with senior leaders to prioritize requisitions as necessary.
  • Provide regular updates to hiring managers and leaders on staffing progress, including feedback and market data.
  • Build relationships with educational institutions, professional organizations, and community outreach platforms to enhance goeasy’s growing employer brand.
  • Research and analyze current systems, making recommendations to improve workflow, identify value-added assessment techniques, and create candidate and decision-maker buy-in.
  • Explore new sourcing methods, evaluation tools, advertising strategies, and technologies.
  • Create and maintain job-specific profiles to attract high-quality candidates that will build the organization’s long-term talent pool.
  • Provide regular reports on recruitment activities to key stakeholders, identifying key issues and suggesting resolutions.
  • Evaluate market trends and contribute to compensation discussions to ensure a competitive edge in recruiting top talent.
  • Consult and coach peers and non-senior recruiters on sourcing and talent attraction best practices, helping to troubleshoot challenges.
  • Collaborate with HR partners to ensure compliance with the Employment Standards Act.
  • Ensure all recruitment and hiring process administration is completed in real-time, including maintaining recruitment folders, tracking, and metrics.
  • Lead and manage third-party vendor relationships, acting as an intermediary between hiring managers and staffing agencies when applicable.
  • Participate as a talent attraction SME on special recruiting projects related to DE&I, candidate engagement, employer branding, and process improvement.

What experience do you have?

  • 3-5 years of previous experience in a professional recruitment setting.
  • Demonstrated versatility in managing recruitment activities across multiple lines of business.
  • Natural curiosity: A champion of testing new ideas and innovative approaches to create efficiencies and contribute to scaling the recruitment function.
  • Ability to recognize patterns in processes, identify root causes, and develop appropriate solutions.
  • Passionate about the employer brand and the goeasy story, sparking interest and excitement in candidates.
  • Strong business acumen when engaging with leaders, taking a consultative approach, and challenging the status quo to drive informed hiring decisions that best serve the business.
  • Working knowledge of current labor laws within the applicable geographical area, including the Employment Standards Act and Human Rights legislation.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Strong negotiation and influencing skills.
  • Proven ability to work under pressure with a sense of urgency.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize work with well-honed time management skills.
  • Proven relationship-building skills.
