Is that you?Here’s the job opportunity…We currently have a great opportunity for a senior underwriter to join our team and make an impact. As a Senior Underwriter, your expertise will greatly complement and contribute to our department’s continuous evolution.You will underwrite new business applications and non-contractual policy changes. Assess medical, financial and non-medical risk, including rated, modified and declined assessments appropriately using ivari’s underwriting guidelines, reinsurance manual, and procedures. You will:

• Review applications for Life and Critical Illness, and associated underwriting evidence
• Conduct risk assessment and classification according to ivari’s underwriting philosophy
• Support the Underwriting Team Leads in day-to-day underwriting productivity
• Maintain positive working relationship with internal and external partners
• Consistently deliver an exceptional service experience to clients and advisors
• Identify problems and opportunities for improvement, and offer potential solutions
• Participate in projects related to technology, and guideline development as required

What we are looking for…

• 5-8 years of experience in individual life insurance underwriting
• Excellent medical and financial underwriting knowledge
• Strong decision-making skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Previous experience dealing with brokerage distribution network
• University or College Degree, ideally in Business, Finance or Health Sciences is an asset
• FLMI and FALU Certifications are an asset
