The organization also delivers some province-wide health services and supports centralized administrative and business functions for Manitoba health organizations.Position OverviewUnder the general direction of the Manager, the incumbent is responsible for: Performing and assisting radiologists and other physicians with high quality special procedure examinations in Interventional Radiology Participating in student teaching program.Experience
- Minimum three years recent experience at the General Duty X-Ray Technologist level.
- Previous experience in special procedures preferred.
- Familiarity with RIS and PACS preferred.
Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)
- Graduation from a recognized school of Medical Imaging Technology.
- Advanced certification preferred.
- Successful completion of Angiography 1 and 2 through CAMRT.
- Ongoing participation in relevant courses, seminars, etc., required.
Certification/Licensure/Registration
- Successful completion of an accredited Medical Imaging Technology Program, eligible for registration with the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (C.A.M.R.T.) and registration with the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (C.A.M.R.T.) within three months of hire.
Qualifications and Skills
- Preference will be given to those applicants competent in an Indigenous language and/or knowledge in Indigenous customs, traditions and values.
- Must exhibit good interpersonal and English written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to demonstrate compassion to all patients and recognize and calm those with a high-degree of anxiety.
Physical Requirements
- Manual dexterity.
- Stands and moves about during most of the working day.
- Bends, reaches, and lifts and carries for short distances, materials or accessory equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.
- At times may be required to push or pull heavy equipment.
- Lifts and positions patients, some of whom are in a state of complete unconsciousness.
- The incumbents are exposed to radiation (within acceptable limits). Exposed to extreme patient injuries.
- Required to participate in the “on call” system.
- Must be available to return to the Centre within 45 minutes for on call/stand-by coverage.
