Closing date: December 17, 2024Course title: Technology Strategy, IMI303HDates of appointment: January to April 2025Description of course: Businesses typically want to grow and compete. Science oriented businesses rely on innovation, protected by intellectual property rights and patents, to gain and sustain competitive advantage. Entrepreneurial science-based start-up ventures especially need a strong intellectual foundation, and they need to raise capital. This course is designed to familiarize students with essential concepts in economics and strategy.Position description: a) Grading quizzes, tests, assignments & exams. b) Meet with or respond to students’ inquiries during office hours. c) Invigilate quizzes, tests & exams. d) Update material and grades on Quercus courseware. e) Attend weekly lecture and/or review lecture material. f) Other duties as requiredMinimum qualifications: Preferably a PhD or Masters student with a background in Strategic Management and some knowledge of Economics. Ideally the candidate will have completed MGT1301, IMI303, MGT437, MGM400, MGT492, ECO 380, RSM392, BTC2020 or equivalent courses.Rate: $52.26 per hour + vacation pay. Should rates stipulated in the Collective Agreement vary from rates stated in this posting, the rates stated in the Collective Agreement shall prevail.Anticipated enrolment: 50 studentsEst.
