The course covers normal age-related neurological, cognitive, and perceptual changes impacting language, as well as language impairments resulting from dementia, strokes, etc. Also discussed are the positive aspects of aging, bilingualism, ecologically valid experimentation, and clinical interventions.Lecture Section: https://www.utsc.utoronto.ca/registrar/timetable?mod=scheduling&req=timetable&course2=PLID74H3&submit2&calendarCourse Enrollment (est.): 30Number of Positions (est.): 1Minimum Qualifications: Graduate Degree (Masters or Ph.D.) in Speech Language Pathology, Linguistics, Neuroscience, Psychology, Gerontology, Health Sciences, or a related field of study. Strong academic record and professional promise. Teaching experience is an asset.Preferred Qualifications:Preference will be given to those with a background in SLP or Linguistics as course must be taught from a Linguistic, Psycholinguistic, or SLP perspective.Duties: All normal duties related to the design and teaching of a university credit course, including preparation and delivery of course content; development, administration and marking of assignments; calculation and submission of grades; holding regular office hours.Estimated TA Support (Hours): N/ASessional dates of appointment: January 6, 2025 – April 30, 2025Salary:Sessional Lecturer I $9,457.90
