Position Type Non-ManagementPOSITION SUMMARYThe Park Tower Knightsbridge Hotel is seeking a skilled Shift Engineer to support the smooth operation of our hotel’s mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems. The ideal candidate will perform preventative maintenance, resolve guest repair requests, and troubleshoot a wide range of systems.Key Responsibilities:

• Respond promptly to guest maintenance requests, ensuring timely and professional service.
• Perform preventative maintenance on tools and equipment, including cleaning, lubrication, and visual inspections.
• Identify, locate, and operate shut-off valves for equipment and building systems.
• Maintain inventory of maintenance supplies and requisition parts as needed.
• Communicate effectively with other shifts to ensure smooth handovers and problem resolution.
• Demonstrate proficiency in at least one of the following areas and above-average skills in two more: air conditioning/refrigeration, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, pneumatic/electronic systems and controls, carpentry, kitchen equipment, or general building management.
• Safely use hand and power tools to carry out repairs, including plumbing, electrical, and cosmetic work.
• Troubleshoot and perform basic repairs on equipment such as pumps, motors, and electrical devices (e.g., lamps, extension cords, and outlets).
• Assist with surface preparation, painting, and general housekeeping tasks related to repairs.
• Follow the Lockout/Tagout system before performing maintenance for safety.
• Use engineering-related computer programs for preventative maintenance and energy management.
• Conduct mid-level troubleshooting of hotel mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems.
• Mentor junior engineers and perform Engineer-on-Duty responsibilities when required.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Previous experience in a similar engineering role, ideally within the hotel or hospitality industry.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
• Proficiency in using hand and power tools for various repair and maintenance tasks.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and communicate effectively with guests and team members.
• Physical capability to lift and move objects up to 50 pounds and perform tasks involving bending, twisting, and reaching.
• Basic computer skills for maintenance-related data entry and retrieval.
