Your RoleAs the Social Value People and Place Lead, you will be at the heart of our social value efforts, ensuring that both people- and place-based initiatives are delivered to the highest standard. Reporting to the Group Director of Social Value, within our Social Value Team, here’s what you’ll be doing:

• Build Skills and Career Pathways: Create and support smooth career progression pathways for Mitie colleagues, focusing on green, digital, engineering, security, and employability skills. Partner with resourcing, the Mitie Foundation, Learning & Development (L&D), Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI), and business lines to ensure seamless career journeys.
• Lead People-Centric Initiatives: Co-lead the design, pilot, and roll-out of key initiatives such as our Digital Academy, Early Careers programme, and skills accelerators to help participants unlock their potential and thrive in their careers.
• Drive Colleague Engagement: Lead our Social Value communications, collaborate with Internal Communications and People Business Partnering teams, and partner with the Foundation to drive volunteering and engagement in Social Value initiatives. Coordinate the Social Value Champion Network to foster a sense of ownership and pride in Mitie’s mission.
• Oversee Place Insights and Impact: Lead frontline engagement initiatives to gather local insights and better understand community needs. Line-manage the Place Insights and Impact manager, responsible for tracking and reporting on place-based and bid-related data and insights.
• Bid Coaching and Advisory: Provide expert input and advice to our sales and bidding teams, drawing on your social value knowledge to help shape winning bids.

• Experience in People Development and Career Pathways: Proven ability to build career progression opportunities and skills development pathways across an organisation.
• Expertise in Social Value: Strong understanding of social value principles, with experience in delivering initiatives that drive lasting social impact.
• Leadership in Programme Design and Rollout: Experience leading the design, piloting, and roll-out of social value initiatives focused on skills development and career pathways.
• Outstanding Stakeholder Engagement: Ability to collaborate with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders to inspire, drive engagement, and deliver on social value objectives.
• SV Bidding Expertise: Experience advising on social value elements within the bidding process.
• Impact-Driven: Motivated by creating real, measurable outcomes that improve lives, enhance communities, and make a positive impact on society.
