For this role, we are open to remote work anywhere in the UKAbout the opportunityReporting to the Development Manager, the Software Developer in Test is primarily responsible for ensuring the quality of deliverables throughout the agile development lifecycle.The Software Developer in Test is a coder who is primarily responsible for creating automated tests and improving code testability. You are passionate about software quality and enjoy refactoring automation framework to make it more efficient. You enjoy working as a team to identify which areas of the application to focus our automation efforts and increase code coverage. By working closely with our QA analyst and developers, the automated tests you write will help determine if the software is ready for production.This is an excellent opportunity to join a rapidly growing innovator in a technically challenging and rewarding role. - Collaborate with fellow developers, architects, test analysts, product owners and key stakeholders throughout the development process to ensure the product has met functional and nonfunctional requirements.
- designing, developing, maintaining, enhancing, and communicating test automation systems and tools for use by development, test engineers, and QA;
- contributing to creation, extension, and communication of test automation best practices;
- providing leadership on continuous quality improvements for the product and processes;
- performing source code analysis to determine quality gaps and communicating high risk areas;
- assisting in assessing product quality and release readiness;
- facilitating creation and execution of automated test suites;
- analysing test automation failures and determine the root cause from source code;
- participating in design and architectural discussions;
- helping ensure new code moves easily through our deployment pipeline;
- mentoring test engineers.
Skills and experience we value
- University degree in Computer Science or related field
- 3+ years of experience in enterprise software development
- English language skills, written and spoken
- Experience and knowledge in Object Oriented Programming using C# / Java
- Solid experience in writing maintainable code and creating automated test scripts for tools such as Cypress, Selenium, FitNesse and Jmeter
- Proficiency with SQL and an understanding of relational database system
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to work in a team setting with minimal supervision
- Experience working in an Agile development environment and excellent understanding of the development process
- Inquisitive attitude a must
- Experience working with API testing
- Experience working with enterprise applications
- Experience working with Cloud Azure testing
What would make you really stand out
- Experience with performance testing
- Experience with Cypress, Jest, SpecFlow
- Experience working with enterprise cloud application in HCM
- Experience with Azure, Jenkins, JMeter, TestNG
- Experience with RESTful API and web services
