Who We AreWe are the UI arm of the Cisco Provider Connectivity Assurance team. Our product integrates with a variety of backends to provide customers insight into their networks. Beyond your direct teammates, you will take part in a collaborative environment involving area specific teams that all depend on our UI to make their parts of our product available to customers.Who You AreWe are looking for a Software Engineer to join our ranks and help us take on the challenge of now and the future. The ideal candidate cares about mentoring others and improving developer experience. Debating designs and proposing feature elements for the benefit of the customer. Be comfortable with rapid prototyping and iterative development for the sake of overall quality.What You’ll Do

  • Develop code, perform code reviews, integrate, test, and debug software
  • Build and support a UI product that covers a vast suite of functionalities and use cases
  • Implement interactive data visualizations and other components.
  • Flex your full-stack muscles via back-end services that empower strong integration of the UI within the overall ecosystem
  • Participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle from concept to production
  • Define and document software requirements specifications, architecture, and design
  • Take part in improving both customer experience and developer experience efforts
  • Collaborate with globally distributed multi-functional teams to deliver and support products

Our minimum Basic Qualifications for this role

  • 5+ years of modern JavaScript development experience – Typescript/NodeJS, yarn/npm, Sass (SCSS)
  • 2+ years of database usage (CouchDB/PouchDB, PostgreSQL, Druid) and CRUD experience
  • 3+ years of web framework experience (Ember.js, Angular, React) – we work in Ember.js
  • 2+ years of experience in web based interactive data visualizations – ECharts, D3, Chart.js
  • Clear communication across all mediums, ability to understand requirements and their associated problems, full time learner and problem solver (Root Cause Analysis is an important part of the job)

Our Preferred Qualifications for this role

  • Understanding of API construction and consumption (REST and JRPC)
  • Statistical analysis experience
  • Knowledge of the networking sphere
  • Full stack understanding (we do more than only UI)
  • Experience with FIPS certification, and FedRAMP compliance
  • Docker and CI/CD

Employees are also able to purchase company stock through our Employee Stock Purchase Program.Employees on sales plans earn performance-based incentive pay on top of their base salary, which is split between quota and non-quota components. For quota-based incentive pay, Cisco typically pays as follows:.75% of incentive target for each 1% of revenue attainment up to 50% of quota;1.5% of incentive target for each 1% of attainment between 50% and 75%;1% of incentive target for each 1% of attainment between 75% and 100%; and once performance exceeds 100% attainment, incentive rates are at or above 1% for each 1% of attainment with no cap on incentive compensation.For non-quota-based sales performance elements such as strategic sales objectives, Cisco may pay up to 125% of target. Cisco sales plans do not have a minimum threshold of performance for sales incentive compensation to be paid.
