Our vision is to tangibly reduce risk on the Lyft platform, and by extension reduce insurance cost. Our team is dedicated to centralizing the entire claims operation onto a unified risk platform. This consolidation of data, workflows, and communications aims to foster proactive measures, enhance efficiency, ensure consistency, and provide valuable insights. These efforts are designed to effectively reduce claims costs as Lyft’s operations expand. Additionally, our team is responsible for maintaining robust relationships with our third-party insurance partners, guaranteeing timely, proactive, and precise sharing of claim data.Responsibilities:

• Be part of an inclusive, collaborative team that embraces pairing, healthy discussions and supports each other in their goals
• Own feature from product spec to successful high quality development, deployment and maintenance
• Unblock, support and effectively communicate cross functionally in order to achieve results
• Participate in code reviews to ensure code quality and distribute knowledge
• Write well-crafted, well-tested, readable, maintainable code
• Respond to external questions and requests.

Experience:

• Must have 2+ years of software engineering industry experience
• Advanced knowledge of JavaScript
• Experience working with JavaScript frameworks, like React
• Experience working with NodeJS and Express applications
• Experience working with design systems (e.g. Bootstrap, Salesforce Lightning, GitHub Primer)
• Experience with unit, integration, and end-to-end testing
• Experience working cross-functionally with Product and Design
• Good understanding of web performance and how browsers and DOM work

Additionally, hybrid roles have the flexibility to work from anywhere for up to 4 weeks per year. #HybridThe expected base pay range for this position in the Toronto area is CAD $108,000 – 135,000. Salary ranges are dependent on a variety of factors, including qualifications, experience and geographic location. Range is not inclusive of potential equity offering, bonus or benefits.
